Does your Boy/Girlfriend let .........
 

Im just curious does your boyfriend/girlfriend let your baby sleep in the bed? Mine wont. He wont budge. Shes only 4lbs. Any sugestions?

Yes, every guy I've ever been in a relationship with/shared a bed with since I've had Stewie has been MORE than OK with it.
My opinion of what to do may be considered harsh, but:

"hey honey. Either Ms. Kimono sleeps in the bed with me, or you don't" :p

Well, mine have been sleeping with us in our bed since the day they came home. I'd do it anyway...but that's just me!

Oh NO! Chewy is about your pup's size and to be honest, half the time my husband doesn't even realize he's in the bed with us. The only stipulation that was given is that the dog be completely potty trained before it came up in the bed.

Does your man give you a reason for why he says no?

I already have to share the bed with three cats AND my husband!
Pixie slept in bed with me last weekend (hubby was out late and opted to just sleep on the couch one night instead of waking me up), but she kept getting up to chase the cats off if they came on. I'm hoping eventually she'll just leave them alone and we can all sleep together like one big, happy family!

SNEAK HER IN!! (That's what I would do anyway!) ;) She's little. I doubt he'll notice the extra 4lbs in bed. Bring her in with you one night after he's asleep and just keep her on the side away from the BF. When he wakes up in the AM and realizes she's there, what's he going to say? It's already been done! If she doesn't bother him one night, why would she another??

OR you could sleep on the couch with the pup. Tell him it's because he won't let her in bed with you, and you won't sleep in bed until it's ok for her to be there too. If he wants you back, eventually he'll cave!

My boyfriend wasn't a big animal lover, until he met coco. He adores her. He gets mad if I put her off the bed for a second. He wakes up at like 3 am wondering if she's ok and where she is. I wouldn't recommend you push it on him. I didn't on my b/f but not only does he love her, but he also knows how important she is to me. I would ask him what it would take for him to be comfortable with her sleeping in bed with you. Maybe he would prefer the paws to be cleaned or tooshie to be wiped. My boyfriend washes Coco's toosh with soap and water EVERY time she goes potty..lol..so her "poop particles and pee dribbles" don't get on the bed or sofas.

Both my girls sleep with my boyfriend and I every night and have been since they came home. I'd make your BF sleep on the floor and see how he like's it ;) Just wait until he's sleeping and then let your pup in the bed or sit your BF down and tell him to try it out for one night, garuntee he doesn't even notice your pups in the bed.
Is there a reason why he doesn't want your Yorkie sleeping with u guys?

My BF did not have a choice in the matter. When we got together, I just had my cat, and made if very clear that she sleeps with me and if did he not like it, leave. Now the cat and the dog sleep with us, or should I say me. They both sleep on top of me.

Why doesn't he want your pup to sleep with you guys? I don't think that's very fair of him to ask of you. Maybe he doesn't understand that Ms. Kimono is a part of your family, not just some animal. You could always get a doggie bed, but I don't understand why it's that big of a deal to him. If it's for the dog's safety because he moves too much maybe I can understand.

My hubby is the biggest reason that my girls sleep in our bed, bc when we first brought them home I was all up to training them to sleep in their own beds at night but he just insisted and there is no turning back now!!!

Yes,, Bailey is always in the big bed,, before or even after any man!
I told this before, but...
One of my ex's came to fix my furnace and he layed his leather coat on the couch and Bailey jumped up to sniff it, no big woop,, well he starts going off, yelling at him to get off it, etc,, I lost it,,, I said " that is his couch and he is on it everyday, and will continue to if you have a problem with him SMELLING your coat, I suggest YOU move it!" HE did.
And then when he left, I remembered~ why I dumped his weak ass! :D

My husband never had a say. The second day we had Tucker he was crying because it was thundering out. I just picked him up and brought him in with me. End of story!

I will always have my dogs sleeping with me . If the other is not happy with that , I just say " Go sleep on the couch or the carpet ".

You could always tell the boyfriend when he's trained to sit, come, and stay, then he can sleep on the bed, too. :D

bunjee sleeps in his crate. my husband didn't want bunjee in bed with us. i didn't have an opinion either way since i've never had pet in bed with me before. but i figure as far as the bed was concerned, my husband got there first so he's got dibbs. :D there are times when bunjee was really fussy and kept crying in the kitchen at night. i'd go and pick him up and sleep with him on the couch while my husband stayed in bed. that's the boundary my husband and i established before we got the puppy and i respect that.

i don't know if this is your first pup or if you've ever had a pet sleep with you in bed before, but if you've never had a pet sleep with you before your current boyfriend, i'm curious to know why are you so insistent on it now? some people, like your boyfriend, just prefer not to have a pet in bed with them. i don't see anything wrong with that preference. and i don't think it's fair for you to force this upon him if this is a new puppy and new to him as well.

if you really want your little one in bed with you, perhaps start off having her in bed with you when you're napping without your boyfriend. or start sleeping somewhere else, guest room or couch with your little one instead. your boyfriend might relent and let your baby in bed with the both of you for the sake of keeping you in bed with him.

It was actually Johns Idea to let Tigger sleep with us. He's slept with us since the first day we bought him home. and at that time he only weighed 1.9 lbs.(10 wks) now at 7 months and four lbs he's my little back warmer.

My BF doesn't really have a choice in the matter, the dogs are part of the package. He actually likes them sleeping in bed with us, but not when they try to share his pillow, or get in his leg space. I think they know that so they both sleep with me, one on my pillow, and one at my side. :)

Regarding your boyfriend, and I mean this in the nicest possible way, dump his a**.

Idea's or suggestions,Yes, get rid of the boyfriend...My dad told me when I was of dating age, if he does not love dogs, then the guy is not worth your time or energy..gee he was right as usual..a dog lover is a great guy,can't hide your true self from a dog

i have no suggestion. Marty lets Dollar sleep with us...he has no choice. I would make him sleep on the couch. LOL! Dollar usually sleeps on him.

That's funny!!!!! I also joke with my BF about training him like I do with Rocky.

Sango's a spoiled lil' Miss Potty Pants & alway sleeps on the bed with us. My husband doesn't mind at all. As a matter of fact when it's bed time he'll jump into bed, hide under the covers and call Sango for bedtime & not me!~ :eyebrow2:

Hahaha but he & Sango always play hide & seek before bedtime.

It was my boyfriends idea to let him sleep in our bed. Alright for him he doesn't wake up in the middle of the night with him gazing into his eyes :p . (He loves his mummy lol) :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

They are so adorable when they are sleeping.. especially when they cuddle with you :)
