Lola seems to have a cast iron stomach too, I've had to suddenly switch her food a bunch of times and she never had a problem. I usually give her a spoonful of wet food at night and she always has unlimited dry. I guess I'd be ok giving her the usual amount. |
Allie came home around 6 hours after her spay- of course she had puppies and had had a c-section, but she was fine. I watched her like a hawk, took her temp, constantly had my hands on her and the puppies and felt better knowing she was home. I would not be comfortable with leaving her overnight and only be periodically checked. What if something happens in between one of this checks?? A lot can happen in a short time. I would want her home with me, so I can see and hear her at all times. Just my opinion. Ps Allie ate like a horse the minute I put food in front of her. |
I just dropped her off, cant stop crying. That little puppy is my world, I wont survive if something happens to her. I'm 99% sure I will be picking her up. I asked to have her done as one of the first incase I pick her up. |
Good thoughts coming your way - I also brought both of mine home the same day and they were fine. My tiny one is not spayed & has never come into heat, probably because of her size & will never have any anthesia. |
sending many prayers lola has a safe and successful procedure. hugs to you, it is very nerve wracking try your hardest to stay distracted. |
Thanks everyone I just called the vet, she's just getting on the table now!! I asked them to do her as one of the first in case I decided to pick her up. |
Praying for your little girl. Sometimes surgeries get bumped because of emergency cases. Looking forward to hearing when she wakes up, and when you can bring her home. |
She will have plenty of time to wake up.:) My girl had a spay plus liver biopsy and dental at the same time. Came home same day. It was a 24 hour hospital, but it wasn't necessary to keep her. It is perfectly fine to pick up your girl tonight if you will be available to watch her. I would not even consider leaving her under these circumstances. |
Just reading this and am praying she is doing well and you will be able to bring her home. |
The vet just called, it went very routinely, she's awake and doing great. He told me I can't feed her but I can give her nutrical. Thanks again everyone. |
I am glad to hear Lola did great and she is awake! I know you are relieved! I bet you can't wait to bring her home. |
So glad Lola is done with her surgery and awake, coming home today. Great news. doubt she'll be whiny and very sleepy tonight, poor baby and don't be surprised if she's not that hungry - mine aren't after anesthesia and surgery - until the next day. I hope she isn't in a lot of pain because she probably won't act like she feels a thing. Here's wishing you both a quiet night. |
I am very happy to hear the great report! Wishing your baby and you a peaceful evening. |
She should be fine with a little food tonight just not too soon after surgery. I've had plenty of dogs spayed and was never told not to feed them anything just to take it easy. I've always brought my dogs home the same day as well. Keep us posted. |
