I had requested a sample couple weeks ago & they sent me 2 huge bags last week (biggest sample bag I ever saw!). I didn't open it yet...my guys are off kibble, only eating premade raw food now. Will save it for just in case. Thank you Farmina! |
I'm curious how people's pups are liking the Farmina samples, particularly the ancestral grain ones? Maybe I'll have to request some samples! |

Not every dog will like it but based on my experience the vast majority do. The stuff is super high in animal ingredients and made in a special process so as to not damage the proteins. It smells extremely good, strong but very fresh and the food is very dark. Most foods no matter what they cost smell and look like nothing special. This food is the complete opposite. Someone on the FB page thought the Boar kibble was too hard but I don't find that at all. |
Just received my samples!! The Wild Boar was a hit!! I have 2 yorkies...Boy is 4 lbs. and girl is 3 lbs. At first I thought the kibble size was gonna be too big for their little mouths, but they crunched it up quickly!! So far so good. :) |
I'm waiting in my samples to get here. My toe aren't picky eaters but Jada has allergies. I am anxious to see if this food agrees with her. |

Thought I should add that I spoke with someone from Farmina directly on Facebook. I was pleasantly surprised to hear this: We have 6 staff veterinarians and 20 other professionals with advanced scientific degrees. Two of our people are fellows to the European equivalent of the AVMA. We have 3 of our plants and do extensive testing with the University of Milan and Naples. Our company has been around since 1965 and is owned by the Russo family. The food you sampled was tested for 24 months in three published studies for safety before they were put on the market. Our foods test only slightly higher than the minimums (fat). It would not be over 18.05 - 18.10. You will feed less of the food than others so he will get less fat than you think. |

You are right the index is 111 for baked russet potato but is 94 for baked sweet potato. The Gylcemic Load is more important anyway and white potato is much much lower, 25% lower probably because sweet potato has so much sugar. Given the oxaxlate levels, phytoestrogen levels as well as the fact sweet potato have up to 3 times the level of sugar. White potato is a better option. |

We just grabbed a few bags! I'm glad to see that they're in the same price range as a lot of the other foods we have fed. Teddy loved his sample that we got a while ago! |

Received my samples today -- two grain free, the Boar and the Chicken formulas. The kiddos love it. Will be using the food for treats until I run out of the food I have in stock, then I will be ordering. |
