We used Merrick's Texas Toothpicks, which are edible tail pieces with a narrow, soft-ish bone in the middle. Teddy got a piece stuck in his throat. He threw up and something went wrong. His eyes were rolling back and he went limp. I thought he was dying. :(

With any chew, know your dog's chewing capabilities, supervise closely, and be extra cautious. Some people may think I am overly cautious and a party pooper, but if they had seen little Teddy go limp, they would understand.
Well since my King is an aggressive chewer I'm definitely going to take these back and exchange them for the next size up, just to be on the safe side! Thank you both very much for the help(:

Like Wylie's Mom, Ann, I really like the benefits of these chews for my boys' teeth. My guys are nuts and dangerous with them, so the chews aren't something that I can use to keep them occupied. As I wrote before, I have to hold them for my dogs.

Keep a close eye on King with them.

Be really careful with these CET chews. I do not like them. I have a bag of extra large ones and JoJo can chew and bite off pieces and I know he could choke. I take them away when they are gooey and ready to bite off. I am going to stop getting these. Too risky for choking. I wonder if my Teddy Peanut had these in his little tummy. He passed on at 10yrs from a stomach obstruction. I wonder if it was a chew. Please be careful what you give your Yorkie to chew. These little smarties can chew stuff up so fast and swallow it.

I don't know their full product range. Should say on the bag if it is rawhide.

what is the best chew treat to give my 6 month yorkie that is also ok for his tummy?

The boys had the CETs today and I gave a big one Teddy. I let him hold it on his own with me sitting next to him (while I held Max the Maniac's :D)

I noted that Teddy couldn't chew as hard with me not holding it.

Even with the Mediums, you will note that not all of the chews in the bag are the same size. Virbac, the manufacturer annoys me with the small ones that are always at the bottom of the bag.

That is a tough question. There is no perfect chew in my opinion. They all have their dangers, depending on the dog. Choking, breaking teeth, getting sick . . .

Whatever you choose, supervise your pup closely.

There are these chews called get naked chews and they have ones for puppy's and they also have ones for gut health which are supposed to be gentle on the tummy but no matter what you give you need to make sure to watch them the whole time they have it.
