Does anyone get this magazine? I heard my food was included on this very exclusive list.

After the company pledged with Truth About Pet Food a friend of mine from Italy sent me some and has a couple times since then.

It will be good to buy it locally or online. If your dog is picky you will have found the perfect food for him or her.

Oh trust me some of the pickiest pups including mine can hate highly rated foods.

They must be pretty close to launching the food. They have a USA Facebook page that started in the past couple days and they announced Chewy.com and a distributor for Northern California and the Pacific Northwest and one for the Mid-Atlantic states.

There are pictures of the sample bags too, and they aren't those crappy clear bags with a teaspoon of food like other companies have.

Are the samples free? I know a lot of brands who have the 1lb samples you can buy.

One of the things that kinda bothers me a little is the rating from dogfoodadvisor.com displayed proudly at the top when the guy who does that site is a human dentist and did not go to school for dog nutrition. I think this is very misleading to people.

When I contacted Farmina they told me around Dec 20th so it should be avaliable soon..

I always do my research and I like the ingredients ..:)
Of course everyone has their own opinion & preferences (which I respect) ...
I have not tried this food for my dogs yet but I plan to request samples..

You are looking at the European format labelling where the rules for labelling are different, names are different and where translation is often a problem. Look at the US website for the labels the way we read them. Having bilingual friends and family I know too well how things translate sometimes the wrong way.

Oh I see, Thanks I was looking @ the European ingredients. I still can't feed the Wild Boar GF, it has chicken in it. I have one tested to be sensitive to chicken & white fish. I might try the samples, do they give out samples?

On page 1 their is a link to their USA FB page .. It says there to
message them with your name & address requesting samples..

The Cod formula has no chicken in it ...

I think Cod & Herring is considered white fish, Turbo can't have white fish either.:(

oh poor baby , i think that cod would be whitefish.
is herring something like sardines ? don't know if that would be whitefish or not .

. i just requested some samples , don't know if this would work for my dogs either but i love to check out new foods..

I don't think many of us are dog nutritionists, but we sure add a lot of information based on years of personal experience and things we have learned from those around us. He even says he more of an expert on analysing the ingredients as to what are good and bad. He's a pet owner and dog lover like you and I and is putting out good information for people who just don't know.

People hate Dr Karen Becker who is a vet and nutritionist who has worked with animals of every variety since she was a child. That's just because they just don't agree with her methods. People also call into question Dr. Jean Dodds who is a highly respected member of the Vet community.

I think we all just form our own opinion based on our likes and dislikes

some of their foods look decent yet some are filled with corn rice beet root pulp potato all non essential dog food ingredients

White fish boiled in milk ah I remember my mum feeding me that bleuch. Herring mackerel sardines etc all oily fish good for doggy skin, Turbot is a very expensive fish I don't even buy that for me

I am just saying the man is not a pet nutritionist and has not gone to school for it so please take what he is saying with a grain of salt and also know he is not researching company's so some really bad company's have a food rated with 5 stars and people think it's great when its not. If someone is having a problem with there dog and eating or just want to know what is best for there dog nutritionally they will go to a vet nutritionist not just a person like us. Its not all about the ingredients a lot is about if they test there food and have a nutritionist on staff and where they get there ingredients. You have to be very careful just to trust the rating system they have. What ingredients you might think are bad may actually be good and even save a dogs life.

I googled & yes, sardines are in the herring family, Turbo loves sardines & he can have that...will request a sample of the GF Herring. Thanks Wanda:D

I respect what Mike is doing & he has a HUGE following. Some people that are active in that site are VERY knowledgeable about dog food. He does actually follow up w/the companies to find out if the food is AFFCO compliant, also checks if the fish used are ethoxyquin free. I don't go by the ratings but pay special attention to the ingredients & where it is sourced. I think everyone can benefit from dogfoodadvisor, take what you like & leave the rest...not 1 thing is right nor is it wrong. The wrong way to pick a dog food would be to pick it just bc it was rated 5 stars.

Let me know how your pups like the Farmina when you get the samples! I'm interested in the GF Herring formula...I do wish they had some lower protein options (I prefer lower protein kibbles for Toki although she doesn't eat too much dry food)...maybe the cod and ancestral grain might be worth us looking into as well.

I have been speaking to Farmina of and on for the last month .. He told me for my pups that the Cod & Ancestral Grain would be good because of the lower protein .. I sent them a message on their FB and asked for some samples..
