| ![]() Hello everyone! I'm new to the site, but I'm very thankful that this website exists! I'm a new Yorkie mother, and this site has helped me a lot! I'm not too sure if this thread is where I'm supposed to ask this advice, but hopefully it's the right one! So, I'm worried about my pups incision. She was spayed on Monday (it's now Thursday) but I've never had a female dog before. I'm curious as to whether Meka's incision is normal, if its infected, and what other's looked like after a certain amount of days. Everyone keeps telling me its fine, but I want to make sure! | ![]() Has she been licking it? It's hard to tell from the the pic, but it looks a little red at the bottom. Maybe give the vet a call in the morning. When I had Bella spayed last month my vet said no charge if I needed the incision checked.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | ![]() Where there stitches ? I don't see any and it too soon for them to be removed. It does look a bit red but not inflamed so it should be fine. But to be sure I agree call the vet. You may need to restrict her from any aggressive licking. You can use a belly band or even just cut the sleeve off of an old sweatshirt. or the dreaded martini glass head gear !! you can buy the at the pet store or your vet should have provided you with one.

When our Bella was spayed, she had stitches. She never licked or bit at them directly, but she tried to scoot on them across the carpet--they must have been itchy. Also, she was much more physically active than the vet recommended. Despite all this, she healed up perfectly. I hope all goes well for Meka! | |

| ![]() It looks pretty normal, but I'm sure your vet would take a look at it for you. My female's incision was rather raised, but healed and you can't even tell she was spayed anymore.

| ![]() Jasmin's incision looks like that too. She had inner stitches that didn't need to be remove. She is completely healed. Your baby's incision looks fine.
