I haven't tried the Zukes dental bones....but I did try the Zukes Mini Naturals in Savory Salmon and the boys won't eat them. They also won't eat the blue buffalo dental chew bones :( So far...the only thing they seem to like as much as the dentasticks are jerky treats. |
Trying to get Zoey thru her teething stage , she'll be 7 months tomorrow! I'm trying Advantage dental puppy teething sticks right now. These definitely need parental supervision. She is 3 lbs but knaws it down to an inch in about half hour. They are as big around as a pencil and not quite 4 inches long. She stops then to get a drink of water. Package says to keep water available to them too. I am concerned about the last nub of it being a choking hazard at that point and take it . The pkg says for dogs 5lbs and up, so just be aware.....and supervise. It does not chip off just gets rubbery with slobber:) Watch the zukes too , weight limit is because of choke hazard, I called the company on that one.when you order online it does not tell you that. I gave these away. |
The advantage gives her some much needed heavy duty teething time for those big back teeth! It's skinny too for her little mouth to get back there. Breeder recommended harts dental best I need to check out next. |

Are there actually any chews out there that are safe for dogs under 5 lbs?? I have a 4lb guy and supervise his chewing...but a few weeks ago, I bought puppy teething chews for him thinking they would be good for dogs under 5 lbs and they still had the warning on the back!! It's frustrating because even the chews that are made for small dogs all seem to have the under 5lbs warning:( |
Maybe that means moniter your babies and don\'t let them eat that last bite that could choke them. Their little throats aren\'t big enough to swallow it. Scared but know your pet. My baby would never be able to eat a whole treat at once . Not the long ones and not the fat ones....I\'m still looking ....bullies are too big for her sge likes the pizzles but not excessive, but needs something to get to those back teeth. The advantage teething sticks work for us. |
