| ![]() Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has used Solid Gold S.E.P. for poo eating pups? I picked some up this weekend, and the smallest dosing is for dogs up to 40 lbs. I figured I would just use half that amount since they are much smaller, but I emailed the company just to be sure. They suggest I go with the recommendation for dogs up to 40 lbs. I just wanted to make sure the ingredients are safe for our dogs. I can't copy/paste for some reason, otherwise I would include the email and ingredients. |

| ![]() Solid Gold Health Products for Pets - Products Okay, now it's working! Here is what I sent them-Hi, I just bought S.E.P. from a pet store today to hopefully help my dog from eating his poo and his brother's. I know I have to give it to both dogs, but the dosing starts at up to 40lbs and my 2 dogs are much smaller. I don't want to give too much, but I want to give enough so that it is effective. Can you tell me how much to give a 5lb and 11lb dog? Is it safe for small dogs? Thank you! And what they sent back- I suggest giving the full amount listed for up to 40 lbs.; very tenacious dogs, especially certain toy breeds, don’t seem to care about the bitter taste. It can take a couple weeks for the supplement to start working. The directions recommend giving the recommended dose 2 times per day for 2 weeks and then reduce it to once a day. Some customers find that they need to continue the 2 times per day for longer. This is fine. You cannot overdose on this supplement. Sometimes adding a digestive enzyme along with the SEP can be helpful also. Solid Gold |

| ![]() If you haven't already, try putting some pineapple chunks in with their food. The acid will break down the enzymes in the meat and give the poop less of a "food" scent. Idk about the dosage of the supplement, I'm sorry. Seems like a big dose though...7 lbs is not the same as 40 lbs....

I did try pineapple for about 2-3 weeks. I think it was working, because there was a time or two that he left the poo alone! After giving it to him for about 2 weeks he started throwing it up about 15 minutes after I gave it to him. He threw it up for 3 days in a row, then I stopped giving it and he stopped throwing up. I was giving just a couple tiny pieces, so I hadn't changed anything. I'm not sure why he stopped being able to tolerate it.

| ![]() I looked at the ingredients and they look fairly harmless, but they don't say the dosing on their website. How much are you supposed to give a dog up to 40 pounds twice a day? |

| ![]() Dogs up to 40 lbs get 1/4 teaspoon a day, and the first 2 weeks they get twice that amount. For the 2 days I've had it, I've given about 1/8 teaspoon a day and I'm sure that's not enough to make a difference. I just didn't want to give too much. There's a big difference between a 5 lb dog and a 40 lb dog! I don't know much about supplements, so just wanted to make sure the ingredients and amount were safe. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | ![]() I used to feed kibble to Wylie when he was a puppy (I've now been feeding raw for years) - and he started eating his poop - yuck!! I tried the SEP and *bam*, he stopped immediately - so I'm a big believe that SEP can work wonders for certain dogs. Hope it works for you!

Thank you! I gave them both 1/4 teaspoon today, and I think I will do between 1/4 and 1/2 teaspoon a day for the first 2 weeks just to see if it will work, then 1/4t a day. It smells bad, bit thankfully they don't seem to mind the taste!
