Well not everyone is going to feel the same way and not everyone words are going to be read by others in the tone they were written. It is what it is. There is a lot that can be learned from arguing. After the argument some people may really think about things or go look them up and I don't even think its arguing its just more bickering if anything.

This is the best forum for Yorkie owners. Probably even dog owners. You don't know what you're taking about to say otherwise. Yeah we come right out and are direct, but one day some of this "criticism" or "childishness" as you call it could save your dog's life. We don't need professionals chiming in - we have a collective lifetime of experiences here on all things Yorkie. Now, what was that other forum about?

Kathy we do have professionals here, in fact many of them. Although I do not know what kind of professionals that gal is talking about.

And this is what I will say; YT is one of the best forums in doggeydom. The articles here, the research and links are invaluable, and I personally thank all current and prior members who have contributed to this massive knowledge base.

And many breed fanciers here have a huge amount of knowledge and personal experience to share.

What some can call bickering, or arguing, I call discussion. Many of the posters here are long time members of YT, and as such, we kind of know one another.

To a new member it might seem, that we are kind of going tooth n nail at each other, when in fact we are not.

There are many folks here I have deep respect for, and only a few of them are actual Yorkie breeders.

I am for the first time in my dog owning life getting a dental done. I have read all the threads, I did my own research. And my first dental will be with my large breed dog. I do not know of any of the large dog breeders who advocate dentals. But my boy will have one done.

It is directly through the information here that I changed my mind.

There is another thing or two I want to say to our newer members. YT is such a great support forum. When I lost my Zoey to cancer, when she had heartworm treatment before, when Magic had DLSS, when Razzle came up with low thyroid, when my cat died of cancer. Who was there for support both emotional and practical...

These self same members of YT, many of whom have posted on this thread.

I hope that all new members do stick around. When I first joined I had no idea how to research a posters past threads or posts. But do not judge YT on just one thread, or one poster.

Yes we can be raucous, and noisy, and passionate about our beliefs, but through our diversity joined together with an absolute love of this breed is what makes this one of the most knowledgeable dog forums around.

FWIW, another member and I used to debate somewhat on YT. We are both scientifically minded and we both want to learn. The result? We are very close friends.

Never said you have no life but it does take two to tango. When you offended long time member's be prepared for them to be defended. You are a newbie who was bashing this board and long time members so yeah our board those of us who have donated and given countless hours of advise to people and to the people who want to be here. There is no truth to what you said so no it doesn't hurt because I know how I am and who I am. I don't like to argue but I certainly like to learn. Maybe I do have no life but that doesn't hurt my feelings Callie is my life I am disabled and unable to work so if that means I have no life so be it. I have made amazing friends on this board and I will not watch any of them be attacked by some newbie who thinks they know everything!

Hi, I've got 2 Yorkies. Halle, who's now 2 yrs. (adopted from ASPCA in Nov) & Spike, who's 11 mo. (adopted in April). We've been using Revolution topical for their flea prevention & heartworm (it also does a bunch of other stuff), & we haven't had a problem. I get the Revolution from a mail order pharmacy, which we've never had a problem, at a price you can't beat. We do treat year round as we're in MD. Some winters are very cold but some, like last year, was very mild. Not cold enough to kill off bugs.

My posts are not winding up where they should be. Seems to be all over the place. I'll get the hang of this at some point.
