| theporkieyorkie | 08-05-2013 07:29 AM | I've tried all different kinds of dog foods and when we thought my older dog was having Chronic heart Failure, I didn't want to feed Science Diet H/D and Wellness was a really good option because some of their canned food is really low in Sodium. I thought about cooking him food myself, but he was also having digestion issues and it seemed to flare up worse whenever he ate any kind of human food. We didn't know it at the time, but it's because he has gall bladder issues.
Then when I got my newer dog, he was having digestion issues, probably from the stress of the adoption ....he went on Wellness Simple "canned food" and he adjusted well.
Both of my dogs came to me on Royal Canine dry food and last month, I changed them to the dry Wellness Core small breed as well. They never free fed off the Royal Canine without mixing it with canned food, but now both of them pick at it.
So far...so good! I was a little bit nervous going to a grain free food just because my dogs have so many stomach issues but both of them have adjusted smoothly. I am currently in the process of adding some PM Raw Food mix(Sojo's) into their diet as well. One really likes the Sojo's, the other has to be in the "mood" to eat it.
~I will also add, that my dogs are really picky eaters. I was changing food constantly because my older male would get tired of his food after a can or two of it. It's been 4 months now and they are still eating Wellness as their primary source of food. |
