Ian is going to have his dental on Friday. I am a nervous wreck!!! I know he will be fine, but I am so concerned about the anesthesia tube, and his trachea. Ho goes in at 7:30, and will probably be able to come home by 5. |

Just keep extra busy Friday. It will help make time pass quicker! |
Considering your past experience with Prince, I understand your concern, but Ian will do great having a dental. My little one had a collapsed trachea, and it became increasingly more difficult for her to have dentals, but I took all three of my Rainbow Bridge babies for yearly dentals, and I believe it's something we can do to keep them healthy. I will pray for both of you. |
Ian will do just great!!! It's always scary, but I know all will go well, and it will be worth it. I'll be sending good thoughts. |
Thank you...all of you for your heart-felt support and prayers. |
Keeping Ian in my prayers for a safe procedure and a speedy recovery. |

I'm a nervous wreck too when they go in for dentals...hope Ian has a successful one & will be home soon to give you bunches of fresh breath kisses! |
Praying for Ian.... |
Tomorrow is the day. We'll leave home about 7:15; he has to be there at 7:30. He is also getting a sealant called Sanos, which is supposed to last 6 months. You cannot brush their teeth with this sealant. SANOS Dental Sealant I plan to do a lot of errands and housework tomorrow until they call me to pick him up. Please keep Ian in your prayers. |
I am thinking of you and hoping the time ties quickly before Ian is back home with a mom who loves him so dearly. My prayers are with both if you. |
Sending prayers for Ian today...he will be fine, but I know how stressful it is on mom!! I hope the day goes by quickly for you. |
Thinking of you and Ian this morning. Looking forward to hearing he is home with you and resting comfortably with his shiny white teeth. |
:)You guys are soooooooo sweet! Thank you! I picked Ian up about ah hour ago, and all went well. There were no hidden surprises, thank God. He hasn't eaten anything, yet, today; I was told to not feed him until dinner. He's pretty alert, but his eyes look very sleepy. As soon as I can get him from under the bed, we are going to take a nap! Your prayers worked! Thank you so much.:):aimeeyork:) |
Yay good job Ian! |

I've been thinking about both of you, and I'm so happy to hear that Ian is home and doing well. As I'm sure you always do, enjoy him and give Ian lots of hugs and kisses. |

Ian has been sleeping a lot since he's been home. He seems to be in a very deep sleep because he has been making a lot of different noises. He did eat a little Greek yogurt with Wee Bits. |
Glad he's home! Is he walking normally... been out to pee? (just concerned about 'deep sleep) |

It will be in his system but shouldn't be keeping him 'down'. He should continually be looking better and more alert each time he gets up. After surgeries I always wake mine up every hour for a drink, a bit of food and to go potty, and just to get them up and walking around a little, until they really are acting normal (not so much groggy dog but interested dog). Also check him... does he feel warm or cold to the touch? Warm is good, if he feels coldish, warm him in your lap and cover him with a blanket. Heat will help process the drugs out of the system. Note: I am just naturally overcautious... |

I usually give them about 1/4 of a regular meal 3-4 times, every 30-60 minutes with some water (not free access to the entire bowl, lol) about 1/4- 1/3 cup with the partial meal so they don't get sick (may vomit from too much on an empty tummy). After the 4th feeding, I give free access but I watch to make sure they don't overdo on the water. If they're still that thirsty, I give a little bit at a time until they are satisfied. Once they start acting like themselves (awake and 'there'), then I let them sleep for longer periods. |
I gave him some of his Solid Gold Wee Bits mixed with Greek yogurt at 4:30. I'm going to check to see if we have any chicken in the freezer. I could boil that rather quickly. Brb |
A few months ago I had boiled a chicken breast with rice, blended it up, and froze it in ice trays. I am glad I have some of the cubes left. I just heated it up and gave some to Ian. My hubby said that he looks a lot better. His tail is up a little higher now!:) |
