My Karleigh has been on Xanax for about 4 yrs now, she has always been afraid of loud nosies, storms are the worse :( we sit with her ( hub ) & I and take turns trying to sooth her, she is getting much worse as she gets older, she is nervous all the time it seems, we have our yearly exam next week so hopefully we can get more insight and help for her.. |

Noise It is so hard to predict outside noises in order to medicate in advance. My dog is now afraid of the wind noise from the trees bending, it does not need a storm. I feel it is an extreme reaction to perceived danger to us and the home. He will not put up with outside loud noises in the home, but he ignores the same loud noises on a walk? We have very sensitive dogs! Perhaps doggy earplugs are needed? |
I know. Pixie will go out and potty in the rain but is sacred to death of the noise in the house. Someone suggested putting cotton balls in her ears but I think that would freak her out too. |
Ear plugs? They make eyewear, Doggles, so perhaps noise nullifying doggy earphones would help? Ear plugs are difficult as the ears are so complex inside. In the meantime we do our best to make them comfortable in noisy times. |
