Yes, you do have to pluck hair from inside the ears. To know if you need to do this, just look in, and if hair is growing out of the canals, it is time. They have little feeling in their ears, so it doesn't really hurt them. I use an eye brow tweezer. Surprisingly, Snoodles doesn't seem to mind it. she hates being brushed, or toenails done, but will readily let me do the ear plucking! Go figure? If you don't do this, ear infections will occur! So, get brave, and just do it! Ha! Ha! Pat |
Not trying to be disagreeable...for sure! But not giving milk is a an old wise tale......at least for me. My puppies have it regularly, I do not dilute or soften food with water, it has no nutrients. When I give food and it needs to be thinner, I add milk. Please do not take my advice.........this is only my experience......My yorkies suffer from no diarrhea and truthfully are to fat. But most vets will tell you........dogs in general are allergic to milk. But in my personal experience...it is a great treat food...but my yorkies have stomaches of iron. |
I didn't know they have little feeling in their ears. I thought it would be painful so I've never plucked out the hair. Now I'll be able to do it. Thanks Pat :) |
Great, thanks for the info. I'll check her ears and start plucking them. |
oil should work, its a very dangerous thing when it comes to this (for mites) i dont think it drowns them as much as it just suffocates them.. coats them in a barrier of oil an doesent allow them to breath, or may get into their lungs and coat them.. Same reason you have to be carful with baby oil around children, can get into their lungs and suffocate them, so id be carful with oils around yur dog, they can get into em just as easily as children can |
I was really surprised when I plucked Snoodles ears, but like I said she was really, really good with it. So, it must not hurt like they say, because she is such a baby. Let lme know how it goes when you do it! Pat |
