| Taking care of 10+year old Yorkie Hello fellow Yorkie lovers, My little Pizza is now 11 and I am wondering what is the best way to take good care of him. He is a fine little chap, 6 pounds of joy and love and we are looking for advice on how to keep him in the best shape. We give him every trimester for 10 days a Detox Blend from Apawthecary and he seems quite powered up after it. We are also looking for some guidance on the Glyco Flex options to strenghten his joints and also do some good to his trachea but we don't know which one to choose. Any other advice will be most welcome . Thanks to all, Raphael |

| Hi and Welcome to YT! First I'd get bloodwork done, and yearly at least to catch anything happening early on. It will also give you a good baseline for comparison if he should become ill.

Great advice. We do bloodwork on all our dogs twice a year, but I think once a year is a great start.

| Hello KJC and thanks for your reply. Bloodwork is a great idea, I didn't think about it, thanks. The last one we did was two years ago, so I guess an update will be a good way to check his status. Do you have any advice regarding general maintenance (as in things that are not necessarily detected by bloodwork, like joints ie) ? I am really interested in glycoflex, glucosamine or any healthy supplement that can do good to him. Anyone with good experience on these want to share ? Thanks a lot |
