Question for those feeding Fromm

Sam is finally getting down to the bottom of the bag of SD. It's getting harder and harder to get him to eat it. Sprinkling parmesan on it worked for a couple of days. Mixing it with the Ideal Balance canned is a hit or miss, and he never eats more than a couple of tablespoons wet, dry or mixed. I feel like he could stand to put on a few ounces. He will be 5 months on Friday and weighs in just over 3 lbs. His ribs are prominent, although you can't see them for his thick coat.

I found a store last week that carries Fromm. I was given four 3 oz. sample bags: Surf & Turf, Salmon Tunalini, Beef Frittata (sp?), and Game Bird.

Are these okay for a puppy, since they are specifically formulated for them? Does it matter which one I try first? They are all in the 28-30% protein range. I plan to treat him with a few pieces to start with before I mix any with his regular food.

All of the varieties you have samples of are the grain-free "all life stages" food. They're not specifically for puppies. They're supposed to have the nutrients needed for both puppies & adults. I don't feed Fromm anymore. But when I did, my pups liked the Game Bird the best. Good luck

If you don't mind me asking, why did you switch? The girl at the store said that she has not once had anyone return a bag of the Game Bird because their dog didn't like it.

I was feeding Fromm's for a while until they would not eat it anymore..i tried different flavors they still wouldn't eat it

Seeger was eating Fromm at 4-5 months old. The kibble is very small and he still loves it. 😊

My pups just decided that they didn't like it anymore They're weird like that. I have to rotate kibble so that they'll stay interested. I rotate between Fromm Game Bird, Royal Canin & Earthborn Holistic Primitive Natural. And we never finish an entire bag before buying a new one. I feed different food for their 2 daily meals. Mine don't like some of the Fromm varieties (like Surf & Turf), so I stay with what I know they'll eat. I really LOVE the Fromm company. They're small & family owned. I don't believe they've ever had a recall either. If it were up to ME, I'd rotate between Fromm varieties. Unfortunately, my pups aren't having that

My puppy eats Fromms. I have no problem. He has had 2 different flavors. I switch between them every 7-10 days. I never have a problem getting him to eat

I feed Fromm in our rotation. We also rotate foods for variety. My dogs love foods with duck, chicken, turkey, etc in it. I haven't tried the game bird yet, but I plan to soon. The other major brand I rotate with is Horizon (we use Legacy and Amicus). It is a small Canadian company that uses only locally sourced ingredients and manufactures all their own foods in their own facility. I'd say to give the Fromm a try and see how it works out. They guy where I buy food says most dogs go nuts over the game bird formula.

My 1 gets bored with kibble so every few months I go to a differently FROMM formula.
