I tried that food for my pup & he developed a rash on his tummy and was scratching a lot. It didn't work for us. I've also heard that lamb has a higher fat content that other types of protein. I'm not sure of the fat content in Acana Grasslands specifically, but perhaps that could be a possibility?
I really wanted to feed something from the Acana/Orijen line because I really like the company. The Wild Prairie (chicken) worked for us. I also tried the Orijen Regional Red & my pup liked it. Although, the kibble size is huge! I had to cut it in half.
Maybe you could try the Hund-n-Flocken from Solid Gold? That's a lamb based food. Mine ate the puppy version when the first came home. Or Just a Wee Bit by Solid Gold? It's bison. But the kibble size is super tiny.
Good luck! |
