| Good dog food I'm feeding orijen right now to my 5.5 pound yorkie. She loves it even after 2 years. I was wondering if switching to freeze dried raw might be good for her. I know yorkies can be prone to pancreatitis, so I'm trying to watch the fat content. Does anyone have any good recommendations? I really like Orijen and the standards they have. I guess I'm always looking for something better for her. I'm tried to do some research but I am very overwhelmed with the choices and brands. I would really appreciate anyone help or experience with raw food. Thanks guys! |

| I tried Primal Raw but Buster just refused to eat it after a few days. I like to rotate proteins and kibble for variety and Orijen is one of my preferred brands. It is great that she enjoys a high quality food. Some Yorkies can be so finicky. Hopefully some of the raw food feeders will offer their advice.

| Primal is good! And so is the Stella & Chewys. If you're willing to wait to switch, Orijen is supposed to be releasing their own freeze-dried line sometime in the beginning of this year...Id like to get some of the Regional Red or Tundra freeze-dried to supplement our kibble with Orijen |

| Orijen is a great kibble! I just started feeding that to my Bentley and will not change, no matter how picky he gets. He's always been super picky and this one he didn't just sniff and walk away at first. Though now he's not so sure he wants to eat it but he'll get used to it over time. It's only been about a week with him on it. High quality kibble is not bad for a dog, yes raw is preferable but if you don't have the time and ability to deal with the ratios and specifics of butchering your own food animals then it is quite expensive and too time consuming when you can feed a high quality food like Orijen and your dog is doing great! No need to change for the sake of change. If there is no itching, goobery eyes, ear infections, etc, then I'd stick with what works. My dog's eyes have already shown much improvement in one week with being in Orijen. He no longer has as much goobers and leakage onto his fur around his eyes. He was fed a high quality canned food (Weruva and Wellness) but it got very expensive due to his pickiness. So I put a foot down, tried Orijen and that is waht he will eat from now on, especially since his eyes have improved.
