| Black scrabble on body Hi. My Yorkshire terrier has a black scab on his body that seems quiet hard and I'm not sure what it is. I'm sure it started as a white spot. It doesn't seem to give him any trouble. His hair is quiet long at the moment. Not sure if there is anything that can be put on it to get rid if it so any information would be great. He's 11 and in fine health. He's very bubbly and energetic and loves long walks across fields and hills. Any information as to what this could be would be great. Many many thanks and happy new year 2013 |

| I'd have a vet look at it. Many Yorkies have gotten a staff infection which requires antibiotics to clear... (just one thing it could be)

| Black scab on body Thanks for the information. Will get to the vets ASAP. Would be interested if there is a herbal alternative |

| I don't think so, if it's staff it can be serious and difficult to get rid of. Coconut oil may help (on and in the body) but ABs would still be needed to clear it completely.

| Staph is short for staphylococcus and it is a bacterial infection. This link explains it very well. (Left untreated, staph infections can be killers so antibiotics need to be given asap...again, best to let a vet look and make the call) http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/sta...ctions/DS00973
