| Question about freezing pumpkin? Normally i use pumpkin for when one of mine has a problem with soft poo and it clears it up right away. I know to spoon the rest of the can onto a cookie sheet and then freeze it in a baggie. My question is how long do you keep yours in the freezer before tossing it out. It seems to get alot of ice in the bag, i would guess from opening the bag to get some out and then recloseing. I do try to make sure i get the air out of the bag before returning to the freezer. Any hints on how to keep it fresher and for how long in the freezer. Would apperciate any hints, thanks

| I have read that you can keep it for a year. I personally don't leave it in the freezer for longer than 3 - 4 months. Be sure to use freezer bags. Or, use containers...that is what I do. I found tiny ones for the freezer that were a perfect size for my usage.

| I use a large gallon-sized freezer bag to hold smaller quart-sized freezer bags of different types of wet dog food and canned pumpkin that I made into single-serving tablespoon scoops. They have always remained good for the few months it takes us to use them up....maybe slightly freezer-burned toward the end but we don't get the larger ice chunks/pieces and Toki likes them just the same! |

| I put the extra pumkin in icecube trays. I put about a level tablespoon into each compartment, freeze them, then place them into freezer bags. I usually use all of it within four months.

| The little containers I found hold about 2 tablespoons....so that way there is no waste. They are like mini tupperware containers and you get 12 of them for $1 .. I found them at Dollar Tree.

| I also use ice cube trays. I have the silicone trays from the Rescue Organization that are in the shape of a paw print. I freeze and then pop them into a freezer baggie. With 5, i go through them in 4-5 months. They are the perfect serving size and defrost in 30 seconds. |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | If you have a food saver it lasts longer. Just freeze them in ice cube trays then u can pull one out when ever you need it. Also you can give the pumpkin just as a frozen treat too. They love it. Great healthy treat with fiber

| We do this too! I've been giving Toki a tablespoon of frozen canned pumpkin as a treat once a day (instead of mixing it in her meals like I had been doing) and she LOVES it! And it keeps her busy for a little longer than other treats since the pumpkin is frozen |
