Dog Food Company Customer Service How Important is your dog food company's Customer Service? I am struggling at the moment because I Love Canine Caviar and how great Riley is doing on it but their Customer Service really Sucks! Somebody posed the question to me: With such poor customer service I wonder how they would handle something such as a recall?!?! [I had never thought of that!!] |
customer service is very important to me as well. it is so irritating when they dance around my questions... :( |
It's extremely important to me as well, it's just one more indication that they take their business seriously, train their staff well, and don't take shortcuts. If customer service representatives are inept, what about factory workers? |
Well Riley was all excited for meal time... Went running into the kitchen full speed... all excited!!!! Ate it all down and has been happy all night. He's been eating the Canine Caviar since Aug. 2nd and is still just as thrilled about it as he was then. Looks like I will be sticking with the Canine Caviar and just hope I don't have to deal with their customer service... |
It is extremely important. Currently my dogs have to be on rx diets, so U don't have much choice. But even so Royal Canin (boy's food) has been willing to answer hard questions. I haven't talked to Purina (girl's food) because it is irrevelant since their food may be keeping her alive. When there is a choice, acceptable answers to my questions is the first thing I consider. Quality control? Who formulated the recipes? Credentials of those involved in nutrition aspect? What testing was done/is my dog the guinea pig? How do you know your food is free of contaminants? etc. I have posed similar questions to many companies and have gotten a lot of unsatisfactory answers. Actually, replies are sometimes laughable. In some cases they make it sound like they are a small family business that takes pride in being that way. I guess that is what they think people want to hear. I know onw thing about small businesses. They tend to make less money than big ones. Less money means less safety procedures. It also means there isn't as much of a chamce that qualified recipe creators are on staff. If they can't answer questions like these to my satisfaction then I don't waste my time with them. |
Customer service is extremely important. I worked in retail. I made sure i gave great customer sevice. I expect the same |

Great questions, I was also pleased with the knowledge Royal Canine reps had. They were able to answer my questions in much more detail than I expected. |
Well since Canine Caviar won't answer emails, and the person on their FaceBook page is an Idiot... I am wondering if I should place a call to them, today and throw some questions out to them to see how they respond?!?! What do you all think? - This is really bothering me for some reason!! |

It is concerning that their customer service is not what it should be. However, you also have to consider how well your dog(s) do on the food. You need to make sure they are doing well. There are some companies that provide pretty fair customer service, but I still don't feed their foods (Diamond comes to mind!). I guess you just can't have it all sometimes. |

I wish I had that schedule!! |

The only other food Riley has done so Awesome on was Taste of the Wild! I switched him from that because of the Diamond Recalls. I wanted nothing to do with them!! |
I think you just need to relax.. Ry is doing amazing on the food- Leave it at that. Ya they may not have the BEST customer service, but look how it has cleared Ry up, look how he LOVESSSSS the food and screams for it and licks his bowl clean! They may not be the best in CS, but they make an awesome food- Peanut is doing fantastic on CC, he licks his bowl clean, his skin, coat, eyes look amazing- I am going to leave him on the food until I have a reason to change… bad customer service is not going to make me change his food. |

Yeah.... You are totally right!! ;) From speaking with a couple of petshop owners, I know that at the moment, their demand outstrips what they are able to produce consistently and I think that that also has me a little nervous as well. But I know that they are working on that. He is Definitely 100% cleared up; no eye goop; perfect small firm poops twice a day; and went running into the kitchen just as enthusiastically as the first time he had had it. I will also leave him on the food until I have a reason to change!! :D |

I would go with your gut and get your questions answered. I know nothing about Canine Caviar's QC. I did just search for information about the company and their foods. several things concern me and they would have a lot of question answering to do. There is no safest food. However, there are procedures that can greatly reduce risk. There are also some ways to develop foods that are better than others. |

Personally, if their customer service is bad I would not feed their food. Marketing can be bought. Bad companies can be made to look good. This is in my opinion... |
It is crazy how Great he's doing on this food... He's only 2 1/2 years old but he has the energy he had When I first brought him home... He has been through a few different foods and he has had some environmental allergy issues but since he started eating it almost four months ago everything has cleared up And he has a ton of energy!! He is also Soooo excited for mealtime. |
