| ACANA vs. MERRICK sorry fellow YT members, for all my posts about food, lol no matter what i feed i do plan to use THK as a topper, just for the added benefits i wish i could feed this full time, but i just cant afford it right now... so my local feed store is limited on what they have for dog food (and its 20 mins away). and they do have a lot of TOTW, chicken soup, they also have BLUE, and instinct, and innova, pinnacle, (eukanuba and some other not so good ones), also they have merrick. my puppies seemed to do fine on the merrick classic chicken puppy formula, they seem fine with food with grain, even though i prefer w/out grain...i mainly need to watch there isnt too much protein... i will be ordering from wag.com to get THK... so if i need to order their kibble from there too it isnt that big of a deal, but it would be nice to be able to grab something from town if i need to...this is why i was thinking the merrick. but ive read some not so nice things about this company, and ive been reading how 'good' acana is, so i was considering going that route... i was getting some other suggestions of food, but ive checked wag and they dont carry them and i dont want to deal with ordering from a bunch of different sites... anyways sorry this is so long, i appreciate the help...this food thing is an ongoing battle ps i need to get food TOMORROW so that is why it is sucha pressing issue atm..lol |

| If I had to pick between Acana and Merrick, I'd pick Acana. I like Canine Caviar and Fromm better though. I've ordered food online before, but not from Wag.com. |

| Between those 2 choices, I'd definitely go with the Acana. My sister is currently rotating through the different formulas in their Regionals line. We have also had several dogs in our family do well on the Blue Buffalo Wilderness and Freedom lines (which I see are offered at your store...Freedom is grain-free but lower in protein levels than Wilderness). I'd also recommend Fromm. Toki's done fantastic on all of the grain-free formulas that we have tried and it's at an affordable price point. I think for us, we spend $13.99 for a 4 pound bag of the grain-free varieties and $12.99-13.99 for a 5 pound bag of the grain-inclusive Four-Star varieties as well (it varies by a dollar or so depending on which local store I go to) . Let us know what you end up getting! I love seeing what others are feeding lol! |

| Might want to Google to see if either or both have had any FDA recalls.

| I feed mine Canine Caviar, the grain free formulas. As far as I know, CC has only had 1 recall of their canned products -Beaver & Turkey. List of recalls for Pet Food Products from Canine Caviar It was recalled bc the canned food was labeled wrong by the co-packer, they added ingredients that were not in the food: Canine Caviar Recalls Gourmet Turkey, Beaver Cans You should ask your local feed store if they can order for you. It is an excellent kibble (the best I've found out there, Thanks to YT member RileyDC). Highly digestible, limited ingredient food & they love it! Forgot to add that Fromm has never had any recalls, also an excellent food/ family owned company.

| It only takes about 3-4 days for them to get it. When you're running low, you can give them a call & order it ahead of time.

| I've been feeding Canine Caviar since Aug. 2nd and couldn't be happier... I also really like FROMM... Riley had a reaction to the Grains in the two formulas and he ate but I wouldn't mind trying their grain free formulas. Riley did great on Acana until just recently after they changed their formula. |
