I bathe them once a week, or more, in summer months, every 7-10 days in winter, but use baby bathe. They never look greasy any more. The yellow bottle. They love it, and I can wash their face without worrying about soap hurting their eyes. They smell wonderful. I definitely would blow dry on medium or low, and fluff it with your fingers or brush as you go. GOod luck! :) |
Regan's pretty good when it comes to baths...She usually just stands still until she gets antsy and then she'll start trying to climb out of the tub. Also, I always use a hairdryer to dry her. I think their coat looks neater and keeps it looking prettier longer. If the weather is hot, I'll turn the temperature on the dryer to a cooler setting, and if the weather is colder I'll use a warmer setting. She likes it alright, but she doesn't like the air in her face. Usually, I hold her while I dry her and she buries her head in my lap, but she sits still. |
Coomie gets a bath every week. I wish he would stay clean and fluffy forever. |
I bathe CoCo once a week. However, she gets wash ups daily and I also brush her teeth and clean her ears once a week. She gets professionally groomed once a month. My vet says that's fine. |
pixie gets a bath once a week need it or not and she's not use to it yet and we have been doing it for about 7 wks and she dont care and her face she will almost jump out of the sink she is silly but i use cat shampoo with flea and tick cause the vet sad it is gental and then i use puppy tear free around her face and the i finish her off with thermasilk conditionar and so far she has had no problems and is shinny and soft and she shines and the tangles from the grass and leaves give me no problems so it works and she likes the warm water just not on her she want to drink it only well good luck and enjoy her first bath and hold onto her cause she might be a wiggle worm like pixie |
Shower anyone I have friends that have larger Yorkies 5-7 lbs and they shower with they weekly. They said they just love to splash around in the water with them. We don't have our yorkie yet...we will be picking her up the first week of March. I am a busy mom and thought this might be a time saver for me. Does anyone else do this? I do have a detachable sprayer for a shower head. Thanks! |

I have a 13.5 Yorkie who get bathed every other Sat morning. I never see dirt coming off of him and he never smells doggyish. Vet said not to bathe him every week because it can cause dry skin. Hope that helps you. |
I bathe my yorkie with me every week. I will shower, then call her over and pick her up and place her into the tub. She doesn't like it much but she knows Fridays are her bath days no matter what. |
I bathe Georgie every week on Fridays (what an exciting life I have LOL). He doesn't like to get a bath at all, but he needs it:eek: . He likes to play outside on warm days. He used to come in the bathroom and try to get in the shower with me, until he starting getting older and realized that the same shower he tries to get it in is the same one he wants to avoid on Friday nights:) |
