Small kibble food? Hi everyone What foods would you suggest that has small kibbles? I've used solid gold wee bits before, but my dogs seem to get bored with it, so I'm looking into other foods to try. Thanks in advance! |
We just switched to Wellness Core small breed. It's grain free and has really small bites. |
We recently switched Georgie to NOW small breed kibble. I always recommend grain free. I have noticed an improvement with his dry skin and he loves it! The kibble is a perfect size for him:) We mix a little wet food, nonfat plain yogurt or coconut oil and he gobbles it up!:) |
The smallest kibble that I have ever seen is a holistic food that is Vets Choice Health Extension Little Bites....I add this to my senior dogs RC because it has joint remedy/rebuilding properties, digestive system, immune system, in it and they love it! The kibble is about the size of a LeSuer Baby green pea...a little larger than a BB....I have only had ONE dog that I have ever recommended it to, not like it....most love it! |
The grain-free Fromm varieties are very small...like pencil erasers. And the Salmon a la Veg flavor is about the same diameter as the little grain-free ones but a little flatter so it'd be even easier for a small mouth to handle. |
Thank you all! I will go to the store tomorrow to see which ones are available. |

Is Fromm an all life stage food? I forgot to mention that I would prefer to have that since all of my pups are different ages. |

I also highly recommend Fromm! It should be mentioned that Fromm has never had any recalls. :) |

I can't find this one in my area,:( but i wouldn't hesitate giving it a try if I find it online |
I switched Zhoie to Fromm when the TOTW recall occurred and she is thriving on it. She eats teh Salmon Tunalini and has never seemed bored with it. The girlie twirls morning and evening to get to her bowl :D |
Small kibble I like Blue Buffalo small breed. It is a quality food with no recalls as far as I know to date. It seems digestible even when eaten whole without chewing, as my dog does. Petsmart keeps it I know. |
I was just going to suggest Fromm as well. My boys are eating the Salmon a la Veg right now, and I was really surprised at how tiny the kibbles are! |
Hi Yorkie Lovers! I am the owner of two little male Yorkies, Spud and JoJo. I have them both eating Blue Buffalo and am very happy with that food. Spud eats the senior food and JoJo is a year so he is on adult food now. Small kibble and very healthy ingredients. Only the best for our precious Yorkies! A friend told me I should mix some wet with their dry food. Is that healthier for them or should I just stay with dry? Thanks! Sandy |
My boys are eating Fromm Salmon A La Veg right now and loving it. |

Thanks for all your replies. Now I have another issue to ask help with. My one Yorkie, Spud will pee on things when I leave to go on a walk. I just spent $300.00 at the vet because of this and the fact that he drinks lots of water. All tests came back ok. Why the peeing on his bed? Are dogs that smart to deliberately pee on stuff? Thanks for your help! Sandy |
Thanks, yorkiemom. I will email Liz. Sandy, you probably should open a new thread regarding peeing issues so everyone will see your question since this is a food thread. |
Yorkiemom, I sent the email and will be getting samples. TYSM! In the meantime, I have purchased Fromm Surf and Turf and today they ate faster than I've ever seen them eat. LOL |
Toki's currently eating the Surf n Turf! She inhales her dinner, even as we are getting toward the end of the bag :) |
I feed Tallulah Nutro Natural Choice Small Bites. They make a small breed formula too, but being the frugal college student, we just went for the Small Bites. The kibbles are the size of pencil erasers and have always been really easy for her to eat. |
I received samples today of Vet's Choice Little Bites (thanks Yorkiemom1) and OMG, the kibble is soooo tiny. It is perfect for my tiny maltese. His mouth is so small. I also took advice from others and got Fromm a couple of weeks and I must say, my dogs LOVE it. I gave a small amount of the Vet's Choice mixed with Fromm today and it is a win win over here. I don't think I've ever seen them all eat so quickly. LOL For now, I will use these two in my rotation, so they don't get too bored. Is that ok? |
