| ![]() when jack turned 1yo we switched him from science diet puppy to science diet regular adult. he always eats well but he started to have diarrhea, so with his inflamed colon we treated him with 2 meds prescribed by his vet and switched his diet to the science diet lamb and rice. the meds helped but after he finished his meds- the diarrhea picked up again. it has now been 3 months. we have now sent off blood work for food allegy testing, for which we will find out his results in 10 to 14 days.. was wondering if anyone has encountered this with their yorkie and in your opinion what food product do you recommend. jack is a very active 15 month old- socialized well...he goes to doggie daycare where he thinks he's king of the yard and very loved by all. if not a food allegy, he then will be looked a psychologically-anxiety issues...i hope it's not that. we also have a 4mth old miniature schnauzer...she keeps him active-they play so well together. thanks for any info or advice, val ![]() |

| ![]() My dog has allergies bad. I havent had him tested for food allergies yet but we suspect that is his problem. Science Diet is not one of the better foods. Neither is Royal Canin what my dogs have been eating. They both have corn in them and that flares up allergies. Some of the good brands are Chicken soup, wellness, Nutro, Canadae and Natural Balance. You mainly want to check the in ingredients and if corn is one of them pas on the food. Good luck we are at wits end with our dog and his allergies. The vet said he had skin allergies and meds have not helped him at all. He has a patchy area he chewed up on his back it has healed some but he has crusty skin there and these little pimples that keep showing up in other areas. We have taken him off the Royal Canin and hope to see improvement.

| ![]() thank you so much for replying. i was at my wits end and i thru out my concern before reviewing what others out there had already been talking about with food ingredients. we still do not have his results back from his test, which is suppose to be this wednesday...so i took it upon myself and slipped into our local pet store- petco and walked out with natural balance duck and potato. i tried to mix it with his old food but jack just ate the new food and wanted more, so did his sister, lola, 4 1/2 month old white miniature schnauzer. that was last monday and both my dogs seemed to have more energy, peppier, and definately no diarrhea. i also noticed that lola stopped scratching as much. i still want the test results so i can see what it is that he was allergic to- because i know he was- but so that i can reintroduce some treats for him. he loves pnutz from the makers of greenies. your dog chachi looks so much like my dog jack. i love puppy cuts on boy dogs! thanks again, val |

| ![]() My male, Parker is alerigic to (of all things) rice!! It's a bit hard sometimes to find a dog food that doesn't have any rice in it. Everyone tells you to feed your dog rice and chicken! Well, Parker can have the chicken, but NO to the rice!! Suz p.s. He likes oatmeal tho!! ![]()
