| New Purina food..... I saw an ad for this in today's newspaper, so had to look it up to see how the ingredients look. I would not buy it even if it looked decent (don't want to support Purina), but I hoped that it would be better than their other diets. It's not Of course the bag is SUPER cute, and who wouldn't want a food called Be Happy?! Take a look.....Be Happy |

| I wish there was a way to let more people know that Purina is the owners of Waggin train so people would stop buying Purina.

Thanks for posting this, so more will be aware, it's still Purina no matter what kind of a bag you put it in to market it.

| I tell people when I am in the dog treats. If they are looking at the treats I just politely say "I wouldn't purchase that. They are made in China and have a history of causing major problems for pets." Honestly, most people put it up and don't buy them. It is better than doing nothing.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | This is easy for the average person to figure out. This is the chicken "flavor". Ingredients Ground yellow corn, ground wheat, soybean meal, meat and bone meal, animal fat preserved with mixed-tocopherols (form of Vitamin E), egg and chicken flavor, chicken by-product meal, corn germ meal, corn gluten meal, propylene glycol, animal digest, phosphoric acid, sugar, salt, potassium chloride, sorbic acid (a preservative), calcium propionate (a preservative), choline chloride, tricalcium phosphate, Red 40, zinc sulfate, Yellow 5, Vitamin E supplement, ferrous sulfate, manganese sulfate, niacin, Blue 2, Vitamin A supplement, calcium carbonate, copper sulfate, Vitamin B-12 supplement, calcium pantothenate, thiamine mononitrate, garlic oil, pyridoxine hydrochloride, riboflavin supplement, Vitamin D-3 supplement, calcium iodate, menadione sodium bisulfite complex (source of Vitamin K activity), folic acid, biotin, sodium selenite. A-4341 Look how far meat is down the ingredient list. Also it's not a named meat it’s just “meat”, probably whatever meat was on the bone which made the meat and bone meal. Even lower than that is the "chicken by product meal". Now there is nothing wrong with chicken meal, but you don't want "chicken by product", it means all the parts that aren't used in other things. I think there are better choices than this food.

| OK...now I'm nervous! I'm a new Mom to a 17 week old yorkie and her breeder started her on Purina Puppy Morsels so that's what I've been giving her. If this is not good for her what brand do you recommend I get her and how do I wean her off the old and start something new? I'm not a fan of the kitchen so making it myself is not an option. :-/ Any advice appreciated! |
