Has anyone ever used ANGEL EYES? I was wondering if anyone had ever used ANGEL EYES? Thor has such bad tearing stains and no matter how much i was his face i can never seem to get him "clean". I've taken him to the vet and everything checks out ok but the tears continue. I just wanted to know if anyone would recommend this product or maybe some other remedy. Thanks! |
Megan has always had bad, red tear stains and a wet face but a couple of months ago I started giving them distilled water to drink. Her face is now dry and the tear stains are gone. :) I also changed her diet to grain free kibble and raw food...with those changes she is like a new dog! |
i tried the angel eyes for my shih tzu but it didnt seem to help her. however , i changed to grain free diet and spring water and it seems to be helping |
I have.. and the results were great!! Bailey is a white shihtuz and had a lot of stains. But... (why must there always be a but???) I talked Lisa into using it for her Curri (sugarmamma) and she did some research. Not so good:confused: I still use it but just maybe once a week . I did ask the vet, I was told it was not something to use over long term. |
Some people are against it because it does contain the antibiotic Tylan and they don't think this should be used for cosmetic reasons. However, sometimes the tearing comes from a low grade infection, and the antibiotic can clear it up. I wouldn't use it long term though, and the people who say it works, say the results are fairly immediate. Not a day I come on YT I don't learn something, such as today & why not to use this product. |
my vet told me it blocks the tear ducts so they don't tear. doesn't seem natural to me.... |

Just want to add that the active ingrediant of Angle Eyes is Tylan. Some people use Tylan powder instead of Angle Eyes, not sure if that's safer, you might want to ask your vet. Here's some more information about Tylan: Quote:

Tylan is very, very bitter. Angel eyes mixes it with something more palatable, because Tylan it makes their food taste so bitter. I loved Angel Eyes, and it did work, but then I started researching to come up with a better solution. I too went grain free. I use food that contains no beet pulp. My guys drink Gerber baby water (Walmart, water section, $1. per gal.). I now have no issues, and have discontinued Angel Eyes. My white Shih Tzu no longer obsessively scratches her ears or body. Her feet, mouth, genitals, and eyes are now perfectly white. Her eyes no longer weep. It's nothing short of a miracle. |
