| Wellness Just for Puppy causing tummy issues?? I am new to YT and hope everyone here can help me. My sweet Molly has been eating Wellness for about a month now. When I got her she was eating TOTW and I gradually switched her over during a period of about a week and a half. She has been having really loose stools and some diarrhea for quite a while now. I was hoping she was just adjusting to the wellness but it doesn't seem to be going away. Has anyone else had these problems? I haven't changed anything else with her either. The vet gave me some r/D canned food from Science Diet to supplement to see if her stools would harden up but it made her sick once and now she won't touch the stuff. If I do need to switch foods, what brand does everyone recommend? Thanks in advance for the help!! |

| Hi there, welcome tomyorkietalk! I am a new member and a new yorkie owner as well. Sheldons brother was adopted by a lady who lives in my town, when we got them the were fed purine because that is what the rescue group could afford, I gradually changed him to now by petcurean and Sheldon's brother Howie started the transition to wellness, Howie's mom told me as soon as she made the switch he started to have diarrhea so she put him back on purine. Not sure what she is feeding him now. So this is the only Close experience I have had with wellness, I think there a re few here that feed that to their babies and they do really well on it. Have you checked the ingredient list on both foods? Maybe he is sensitive to one of the ingredients in wellness that tots does not have. I had Sheldon on Now by petcurean, it is a great food but it had 3 forms of protein and potatoes and he was very itchy. He is on Natures variety grain free limited ingredient, NV does not have potatoes, they use tapioca. Since I changed his diet the itchiness has stopped and he has less eye discharge. Here are a few brands I think are really good, assuming you want to feed a grain free kibble diet. I am sure there are more but I can't think of them right now. Good luck! Btw, most of this brands have canned food as well. Now Fromm Lotus Canine caviar Natures Variety Pure Vita Acana Orijen |

| Wellness can have some formulas a bit "complicated" with lots of ingredients. Maybe her stomach can't tolerate it. I'd try something a bit more simple. Nature's Variety has an LID line, so does Canine Caviar (almost all of their formulas are pretty simple) and we've had fantastic results on the Acana Singles line.

| How old is your pup? If close to an adult, I'd do SD adult lamb and rice. One of my dogs has mashed potato poop on a lot of foods. He either has to have a gastro diet or a food with beet pulp.

| We fed Nature's Variety Prairie when our dogs were puppies. They did well on it. We had switched to TOTW but now we are feeding Fromm. We haven't had any trouble with the Fromm.
