Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Revolution enough ? Sophie is extremely allergic to fleas, and gets very uncomfortable with their bites. We started using Revolution a week ago. I was wondering if I could use, Revolution for 2 weeks, and for the other 2 weeks, something else, just to keep her protected, also I dont know the residual effects of Revolution since they are bathe every week.

| Revolution is a monthly med. It is absorbed into the blood stream through the skin. You should apply when the coat is completely dry. You can wash them after 2 hrs if the coat is completely dry. Since I have a golden retriever, Buddy, I bath him a day or so before they are all due for their Revolution drops to make sure his fur is completely dry. I will bath the girls a few days later after I apply the drops. Buddy is highly allergic to fleas to. He is fine with just the Revolution for fleas. I use use an all natural citronella spray on them when we go hiking agains ticks.

| I use Revolution on all 5 of my girls and they have never had a flea or a problem with it. They have all been on it for over 5 years and we must treat year round in Texas. Since it is a monthly dose, please don't use anything else like flea soap or another application of flea prevention as you could get too much into their system and that could cause major problems. Revolution is the only one I believe that you can bathe after application when it is dry. I also bathe my girls the day before application and then wait another week but it is absorbed into their skin so it doesn't wash off. |

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | There are also many natural flea remedies. My Bella is horribly allergic to flea bites....My vet says worst he has ever seen. She vomits, gets open sores on her back not from itching either she cannot reach her top back Its bad. I do not use chemicals on either of mine (not judging those who do Its just my preference). Here are a few I recommend. Organic earth, Repellents Hope that helps!

• Fleas are similar to cockroaches in that they adapt to their environment. They become stronger and more immune to the popular commercial flea control chemicals with each generation. • Most of the fleas are living in your pet's environment, rather than in its fur. Every flea found on your pet may mean that there approximately 30 more living in your home. • A single flea can lay as many as 60 eggs per day. The lifespan of a flea is about 90 days, but the hibernating cocoon can survive up to year without feeding. Controlling fleas does require some effort, but there are safer and effective ways to control fleas than chemical-based commercial flea control products. I think fleas are getting stronger and more immune to chemicals we use.

| Revolution only covers against dog ticks. Not deer ticks that carry Lyme's. I use an all natural citronella based tick spray on Buddy when he goes out- I put it on a bandana so he is not continually exposed to the tick spray.

My furkids Donating Member | I was just looking up natural flea and tick repellents...I use a peppermint solution on the furkids....I was just reading up on lemongrass oil....this can also be used and it repels ticks as well..AND it can be used on us as well...for all kinds of biting insects!!! I am going to be trying this one...I don't like putting chemicals on the furbutts...however...going natural you have to apply more often...anyone interested in this just google natural flea and tick treatments using essential oils...it will come up (will have to navigate the site a bit)

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I use Rosemary oil , just a few drops, in their shampoo, also spray on them( their legs and under side) if going for a walk. But Sophie is a magnet....besides, since they are not getting they usual walks, they go to the back yard quite often during the day. definitely like the natural oils idea better!
