Latte Itchy Update OK! Negative on the yeast, but I'm still going to use the yeast shampoo when I get it. However, her thyroid is low so she's going to get thyroid meds for 60days. It can be the cause of the itchiness. We'll recheck her levels in 4 weeks. The only side effect could be panting at night, and if that happens, I only have to call and they'll lower her night dosage. She's had a rough day with all her shots and stuff, so she's in her bed, shaking. ( Needs some cuddles.

They should NOT have given her vaccinations until her Thyroid is straightened out URG ! this makes me so angry when vets vaccinate when the dog has a health issue & a good vet will never vaccinate a sick dog. You need to find a new vet ASAP.

I am just so upset rite now that he gave Latte her vacs before her meds had time to work. I have an auto immune of the Thyroid & my Dr will not give me any kind of vac if my levels are off, no flu shot, pneumonia Nothing. Now her thyroid will react to those vaccinations & Not in a good way. Also a dogs immune system needs to be strong at the time of vaccinations & with her thyroid levels off, it is not as the Thyroid has a part in every aspect of your body. It infuriates me how many Dr's no NOTHING about the thyroid. Also where was the test sent to ? & did they check T3's & T4's ? did he send it to Dr Dodds ? as that's where it should have gone.

appreciative I really appreciate your concern. I can only be hopeful that she will be alright; I do not have the background knowledge I may need to be a good Yorkie owner, and I guess my vet is not as knowledgable as he should be either, but I do love my dog and give her the best care I can. I'm just going to watch her, love her, and be positive.

Also, I would not be trusting that she does not have yeast. I took Gracie to 4 diff vets & all said she did not have yeast & vet 5 confirmed that it was yeast & after treatment her itchies were gone.

Still going to use the yeast shampoo. He told me that just because the smear didn't show it doesn't mean she doesn't have it. I will check with the office in the am to make sure everything is ok. I do appreciate your kind words.

| thanks for updating on latte. sorry to hear that her thyroid was low, but hoping that the meds she is on and the shampoo you're going to try will offer her some relief. (and you too) low thyroid can cause all kinds of skin problems and it really could be the root of her problems. my zowi is hypothyroid also and takes l-thyroxine twice a day. she had to have her levels rechecked after a month of the meds and every 6 months from here on out just to be sure that she is still getting the correct dose. thankfully, it is fairly easy and inexpensive to treat. give the meds some time to work and i'm hoping that you will see a definite improvement very soon. zowi's thyroid levels were back to normal after only a month of meds and i did see improvement with her. initially zowi's bloodwork was sent to u of michigan for t4 and t3 evaluation and the rechecks of her levels have just been done at our regular vet's lab. do not be hard on yourself!!! you are a great mommy and yorkie owner and you are doing everything possible for your little one and that is all that you can do. we do not have the medical knowledge that a dr has and can't be expected to know everything. this is why having a wonderful vet that you can trust is sooooo important. continued well wishes and prayers for sweet latte. please keep us posted, i will be checking back!
