That should help and I hope he feels better soon. I might add for those with new yorkies that may not know this, pumpkin (not the type with spices that you use for pie but the plain pumpkin in a can) is the only thing good for both constipation AND diarrhea. |
He is refusing the rice, but he is loving the bread. I am not letting him eat loads at once, but will go and buy some more. I'm vegetarian so didn't have any meat to flavour the rice with! I'll stick with bread for today, and then get some boiled chicken tomorrow. |
If he is not wanting to eat his kibble, you might try mixing a little kibble with boiled chicken and then as he is doing better add more kibble and less chicken until he is eating just the kibble. My dogs eat rice and chicken mixed with kibble for breakfast each morning and just kibble at night. |
I bought some bread, but he was having none of it. So I mixed bread, rice, and a teeny bit of wet dog food, and he ate it. I will stick with this for a bit and see what happens. Fingers crossed! I'm bored of trying to wipe/clean/scrape liquid poo from the pavement now! |
Switching foods can often upset their tummies, so that would explain why he wolfed it down yesterday and isn't interested today. If he continues, I would recommend taking him to the vet... Things can progress quickly with these little guys, and you can't be too careful. |
I did take him to the vet today about it, but she wasn't too worried at this stage. Just advised on having a carb diet. I will return tomorrow if they're not firming up. |
He isn't doing too well tonight.... :-( |
Awww, I am so sorry :( |
Thanks, he was sick (all the rice came up). He is now sleeping. I don't know him well enough to really know whether he seems down or not, or whether he is still just learning about his new home. I will take him out for one last toilet break, and then hope he sleeps and feels a little better. |

My Taycie has a very sensitive GI system and I have been the rounds with upset stomachs and vomiting. Personally, at this point he needs a vet. He probably needs Fluids and medication. They also can give a shot for the nausea. This helps tons! I didn't see you mentioning meds at all. As far as diet, bread seems rather strange to me. I would feed chicken and rice and maybe pumpkin. Too many different things can make it worse. I say less is better with stomach issues. If it were me, I would go to the vet. These guys dehydrate sooooo fast. Taycie ALWAYS ends up on fluids, sometimes only after vomiting twice. Good luck |
He isn't drinking water this morning, and no nutrical. The vet didn't want to give him any meds yesterday. I am now waiting for the vet to open. |
