Just thinking about Riley -- how is he doing?!?! |
Oh, my goodness! He really did have a very bad reaction. I hope he's much more comfortable this evening. |

He is looking a little better. He ate all his dinner...I cleaned his ears again really well and I gave him another 1/2 a Benadryl. He is sleeping now. I'm just a little worried about his ears. When he had a bout of environmental allergies in May, last year, they gave him Really Bad ear infections.... they were so bad, both ears that are usually straight up and down were Completely Flopped Over..... I was like: what in the world?! after a couple of visits, they ended up having to give him a round of Clavamox. I just saw him kind of shake his head. I think his tummy is going to clear up just fine....but now I'm nervous about his ears. If I'm not happy with how they are looking in the morning, I will take him in to the vet. I'm taking the bag of Lamb back for a full refund, tomorrow. I'll probably grab another bag of the chicken. Now I am going to be supper paranoid with any and all food that he is eating. |
How is riley feeling today? Hope he is doing better. Oscar is doing great on the instinct frozen raw. I may try the primal raw someday if i have too . Since he is doing so well on the instinct i am not going to try anything new..... |
Hi, I just message you. Just checking up on Riley :) |
Sending hugs to Riley. Glad to hear he is doing better. :) |

Ohhh Totally...... I hear ya!! :) He has been on Primal Raw [chicken formula] and we finished that bag, so I was changing the protein as Primal suggests. We changed to Lamb and he had a reaction to it.... even though he has had the lamb formula, before. I do have FROMM kibble, now, for times when I don't thaw his nuggets. I was doing raw morning and kibble nights but started doing raw morning and night the past 3-weeks. I will definitely be sticking with the chicken since I know he does okay with it. |

Hi All!! So Riley's Tummy is looking better, but his Ears are a bit of a RED MESS and he is shaking his head just a teeny weeny bit!! :( It kind of comes and goes every couple of hours it seems. He is sleeping now so I am going to go clean and keep my mind off of it!! Already went and ran all the errands i needed to. Went back to the store where I bought the Primal Lamb and got a full refund. I got another bag of the Chicken. I'll feed him his kibble until he is completely cleared up and then start the Primal Chicken. He is still being such a such a Sweetie Pie!!!! It just kills me to see him uncomfortable!! I'll update later this evening. :D |
I hope his little ears will be ok. So glad his tummy is looking better. |

So glad hes feeling better, I'm sure you are too! Miss Mini had a horrible reaction 2 weeks ago as well, her whole head swelled...it went from bad to worse in minutes, I still have no idea what in the world it was....I digress, I hope Riley continues to improve and has no more nasty episodes like that:) |

Glad to hear he is doing better~! :) |
Poor baby!!!! Kisses and hugs from Rylee Belle................ Hope he feels better soon! |
Awww.... Thanks everybody!! He is getting better and better. I started him back on his bag of Primal Chicken Formula, this a.m., which is what he was on before I switched him to the Lamb.... and so far... so good. He Loves it so much, he screetches high pitched and does circles in the kitchen when I am getting it ready, for him. I'll continue to give him Benadryl for the next couple of days until it completely clears up. :) |
Well, it seemed Riley had a bad reaction to the FROMM kibble....I had switched him to. I was feeding Chicken A La Veg... and Pork & Applesause.... He is used to No Grain and lower carb diet and it seems those have several different grains, and more carb heavy than he is used to, in both bags. I completely switched him back to Acana [should have never ever switched him to begin with.....] and he is thriving once again. Although I would have Loved to try the grain free FROMM formulas, I don't think I will not be switching for a long time. :D I am still going to be nervous about Lamb.... and think for now I will stick with the Acana/Pacifica and Prairie formulas for now. I swung him by his vet last a week ago Friday because his ears weren't getting any better and seemed to be getting even more irritated and red. I did some research on my own and it was saying that a food allergy could cause recurrent ear infections. I decided to take him off of the FROMM kibble as well as the Primal Raw and went and got him a bag of Acana/Pacifica. Knowing he had had that before and always thrived on Acana. The vet agreed and said his ears were really clean but that he thought they needed drops for the inflammation. He gave me drops to give him 2 times a day for 10 days. They are clearning up, now. I will stay away from Primal Lamb, anyway and I will be nervous to give him anything with lamb in it.... and the FROMM kibble it out as well. |
