| Ear Infection My little furbaby has been itching at his ears like crazy! I took him to the vet this AM they found out he has an ear infection He gets 3 drops in each ear BID for 1 week. Poor baby hated getting his ears cleaned out. Are ear infections common in yorkies?

| Mine are 6 and have never had them so I dont think they are. I know with some breeds like cocker spaniels they are though my aunt had to treat her cocker for it all the time

| Ears Hi. Well my little boy had been on Predisone after surgery and was immuno-compromised and he got a yeast infection and ear clean out (which he DID not like!) He recovered in less than a week and all is well now. He has a preventive drop now every week called Zymox I believe to keep him OK. Hope your baby gets wll soon, do not worry he will soon be fine! |

| I don't know if they are prone to them but there are a few things you can do to help prevent them. Make sure there ear hair is plucked and clean there ears weekly. So sorry he has an ear infection and I hope it clears up fast.

| Oh, so you do have to pluck the hair from their ears. I was wondering about that. Oscar doesn't have much in his ears yet but he did let me in there to pluck a couple and it didn't seem to bother him at all. I also trimmed the hair around the inside of his ear. Thanks... |
