| So it's thought that Gizmo has an allergy to Chicken. But does that mean he's allergic to all our feathered friends? I mean there's other options like pheasant and quail for foods. But does that mean he's allergic to those too? I guess I was listening to my local dog food people talk about proteins and what you're dog could be allergic to and I guess it didn't make much sense to me. I did a search online to see if these were in fact common sources for allergies, and I found out their according to alot of sites, they aren't. Opinions?

| How severe is the chicken allergy? I know many people who are allergic to chicken but not turkey, quail, or other birds. I would try them in same amounts or just switch to lamb, venison, salmon, beef, etc. totally different proteins.

| I have also heard that some dogs appear to be allergic to chicken, but if given organic or free-range chicken, they are ok...sometimes its not the protein itself but something that the chicken has been fed that sets off the reaction. Its one of the reasons that food allergies are so darn hard to solve! Good luck. |

| That's what I was wondering too. I don't plan on switching Gizmo's food for awhile. But I was just getting as much information as I could so when/if the time does come.

| Peanut doesn't do well on chicken based foods, I have him on Acana. I just stay away from Chicken- He gets the "Pacifica" "Grassland" and "Ranchland".
