It's good that you are home with your little tiny one; I would be worried if one so you and so small were home all day. Just remember that he like a newborn infant ~ he must stay fed, hydrated, and get lots of rest. Don't overhandle him; he's too young. He's very adorable; please keep us posted on how he is doing. |
congratulations on you new litttle sweetheart he is so lovely best of luck for your first vet trip i know i was worried about my little baby beau. let us know how he gets on xxx:animal-pa |
He's very cute. Made me smile! |
Such a sweet looking baby! If it is cold where you are,you can make him a sweater out of a sock (check youtube for how to). The way I got my baby to drink out of a water bottle,,, I smeared a VERY tiny bit of peanutbutter on the end. She sniffed and then licked and realized that there was water. I keep it in her crate with the door open and she can go get a drink anytime she wishes. |
Welcome to Yorkie Talk! Your little furbaby is a cutie. |
I always add warm water to Brutus' food. He just seems to like it better that way. |
Oh, the little sweetheart! Congratulations! :) Just a quickie (in case he doesn't take to the water bottle - Harry wouldn't ) - what sort of bowl are you using for him to drink out of? We were using a stainless steel one, and Harry wouldn't drink from it - I realised eventually that he could kind of see himself in the bottom - and it was putting him off. I think he thought he was sharing it with 'that dog in the bottom'!!! :D So we got him a very shallow ceramic bowl (almost saucer-like) and that solved all the problems. Good luck! Sally + Harry x |
Very cute puppy. I have my doubts about him being 9 weeks old as well. We do have a link here on YT on how to make clothes out of socks for the tinies: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yt-...out-socks.html |

congrats on your new baby and welcome to yt |
Use a syringe, one cc at a time and maybe this puppy is use to a water bottle. You might call the breeder and ask. |
One thing I know is that you can't trust size alone to determine the age of a puppy. And, it is very difficult to judge from a picture, even if there is something in it for a gauge. If you trust your breeder, I would assume his age to be true. My former Vet told me my Willow wasn't nearly 6 mos old when I bought her because she was so small, 2 lbs., and her teeth were "too small". Well, my breeder is very well known and respected and I trusted her. Willow is three and her adult teeth are still "too small". I have to buy something that has puppy size kibble to accomodate her, and it is a challenge to find a premium food with kibble that small. BTW, I changed Vets after that. I always used warm water on their kibble to mush it up somewhat when they were that young and by doing so, they got a lot of their water thru the 3 feedings a day. Good luck with your baby. |
