| I'm always curious about the differences, too. My vet has always been so fair with me. I love him, trust him, and am very lucky.

| Just spent $518 on a dental with X-rays, fluids and monitored anesthesia (gas inhalant) at A dental clinic by a vet dentist. No extractions were necessary and they did not recommend application of any sealant to the teeth. This price also included the exam by the dentist. General exams cost (at general vet) $58 exam Blood superchem with CBC, heartworm, fecal, urinalysis was $80 My new vet is alot less ok blood than prior vet.

| Jackson's dental in April had all of the following charges: Our first visit we went for bloodwork: Blood Chemistry Panel, included - 0.00 Anesthesia Safety pre-op - 63.00 CBC, complete blood count, included - 0.00 Bordatella - 29.00 Day of dental: Oravet home kit - 44.90 fluids IV with catheter - 60.00 anesthesia -159.00 dental scale & polish - 125.00 oravet sealant - 22.00 nail trim while under - $13 for a total of 446.59 There was other stuff listed but it all said $0.00 included. It was pricey, for sure, but I do really like and trust my vet, it's one of the best in the area, so I wanted him in the best care. Next step up would've been the dental center, where he went before for another issue, but for just a cleaning it was going to be like $850! This area in general is more expensive though.

| I will share the info later tonight (I am posting this to remind myself. I forget easily!). I took Beau (Poodle/Terrier mix) and Blue (Yorkie) to the clinic for their dental cleaning. Vet care is not cheap anymore but I love my dogs (and cat) and want the best for all of them!

Susp. 5ml - $20.65 Genitzol Oint. 7.5 gram - $15.25 Total: $424.06 Grand Total: $654.06 All for Blue Sake. More expenses coming. He has a luxating patella on his left knee and will have the surgery next Wednesday. Even it does not bother him but the knee pops a lot. I decided to take the Dr's advice to go ahead with the surgery instead of "wait & see". An estimation cost for the surgery is $1250. He did great job on Blue's both hips. I never paid the vet a lot of money until I took Blue. It is an eye opening and I have learned a lot because of him. He is worth it and I hope it will be the last surgery he will ever need!

| So glad this was posted. Illy's vet has put her on. 3-year vaccination schedule but is going to do "Titers"... He also does not charge for a nail trim. She has her own bank account with a debit card. I put $150.00 a month in it... Use it for her food, etc. I can't believe how much it has grown though in just the past year!! . |
