I love that Zhoie has her new stroller and HK blankie to help her get comfortable while she is recuping...It was so thoughtful of Anne and Laurie to send them to you especially during this difficult time. I'm sure Zhoie appreciates being able to stay with you room to room...and of course, you feel the same...it's only natural considering how much you love her and all you have been through.

Still here sending prayers and hugs for Zhoie, you and Pat.

I did reimburse Anne, but it was the gesture that moved me so, when she didn't know me from adam. That was so very special to me.

Zhoie is doing well today, I don't want to jinx us, but her coughing seems to have stopped when eating. So, I'm praying that a good sign her throat is healing.

I am so glad to hear that all is going well for Zhoie and you. Sounds like you have landed in the lap of a wounderful person with the AAI group. How kind it was for her to order the stroller for Zhoie! It looks like Zhoie has a fantastic recovery room!

Nothing but the best for Miss Zhoie! Glad to hear she is on the mend.

I'll bet you are exhausted and drained. And probably back to work to boot!

I just read this thread front to back. I cried, laughed, smiled and wept right along with you! I couldn't imagine how you and Pat felt. My heart goes out to all three of you during this whole ordeal!
I will definately pray for a great continued recovery for Zhoie!

Update on Zhoie
 
We hit our 1 week (7 day) mark yesterday and girlie butt seems to be doing very well. The coughing/choking has stopped when she eats, means her throat is healing and no so sore:thumbup:

We have our 4 wk checkup scheduled for Mon. Jan. 2nd. We will drive to NCSU on Sun., appt. Mon. and drive back on Tues., so it won't be so hard a trip on her. She will be mildly sedated for radiographs to compare the implants to the post surgery radiographs to make sure they are in place where they should be.

I pray everyday they are! At that point, I may step back and relax a little bit. :)

Just went through my holiday cards from all the YT'ers last night and saw Zhoie sitting so pretty in the card from you gals!! So happy to hear she is healing.

I'm so excited, we go to VSC in VA., in the morning for suture removal. I'm hoping it will make her more comfortable, she's been trying to scratch at them.

Poor baby goes out to try to poo and is shivering so bad, it so cold here. They don't want anything at her neck, so I'm going to try to cut something out and sew it up for her today of of fleece to wear. I was thinking like dress/coat design, but instead of the neck straps just attaching a wide strap on one side and then having it velcro across her chest and attach to the other side. Think that would work? I hope, my poor little coldie butt:)

So glad she is going to get her sutures removed! I bet she is so ready for that. Fleece is so warm. I think that would help your little coldie butt a lot!!

This thread has warmed my heart. Tena, you are such a fine example of what the relationship between our pets and us should be. You have been Zhoie's advocate from the beginning. Your love for her shines through. My prayers continue to be with you and Zhoie.

Thank you for your very kind words! You don't know how much they really mean to me, when I have a moment of weakness and doubt.

I'm forever grateful to everyone of our YT friends who has extended their hearts, showed such wonderful caring, compassion and has shared the power of prayer and will continue to pray for our darling Zhoie.

I know in my heart...my girl is the real fighter...we just had to provide the chance.

The fleece coat sounds like it would work. Just something to keep her warm would help a lot. It's so pitiful to see them shiver, isn't it? I'm glad she will get her sutures out. She will be more comfortable. Time will pass quicker than you think. You'll look back and be so glad it is over and so thankful she did so well.:)

We are home and the sutures are out, I so tickled! :thumbup: She got weighted, temp, heart, lungs checked and all was well. Thanking our good Lord.

I took a picture of them before I took her but figured it's much to graphic to share.

But...here's a picture of the coat I made for her yesterday, straps across her chest instead of her neck. Only for outside, I would still be afraid to let her sleep in anything that could move up to her sweet neck. Isn't it strange to see Zhoie without whiskers, nothing but a tiny little gotee, LOL.

Oh there is sweet baby girl!! Tena, Zhoie looks so good:) I love her little coat you made her, now she won't be so cold when she goes out. Give her some hugs and kisses from us. It is so good to see pics:)

O Tena she looks beautiful, it is so good to see her looking so pretty:love:
The coat is adorable I knew you would come up with something that would be just perfect for your little girlie:)
