Help :( collapsed trachea??? Sorry to hear:'( I'm new to this forum & need help, any info provided helps!!! So my little Miley (3 1/2 yrs/4.8 pounds) went in for a dental cleaning today & shortly after I dropped my little girl off, I got a call from my vet saying they refused to operate on her or give her anesthesia for the fear of her not waking back up because she has abnormal breathing. I've always been aware of her snorting and coughing and honking noises but when I addressed it to the vets previously, they acted as if nothing was wrong. After doing research it sounds like my little one has a Collapsed Trachea. She has an apt for X-rays Friday but just thinking about her being diagnosed with this makes my heart ache. She is my little girl, don't know what I would do without her. Miley was also diagnosed with epilepsy about a month ago. She was purchased from a pet store & probably from a puppy mill. If anyone has any positive info they can provide I would appreciate it so much. Also she sounds constantly congested. Please keep Miley bear in your prayers for me. :aimeeyork |
Something else to really watch for too, is their fever. Kayla's fever hit 106, she was sooooo upset at the vets. With this CT, everytime we go to the vet it takes her at least 2 or 3 hrs. to settle back down at home. I was so afraid she was going to have brain damage. We do everything we can for our little girl. I would like to know more about the child's inhaler. IMO I don't think the vets take this condition serious enough. Kayla went in for her welliness check-up last week. Vet took 2 different x-rays and said she had a large heart. Didn't seem too concerned about the CT. How could they not when she is breathing like that. You would not believe what she sounds like a night when she is asleep. We keep our house sooo cold for her I nearly freeze at nite. Would do anything for my baby though. I can really feel for each of you going through this. I am going to try to find a specialist. Getting her there will be something else, espically when were are just blocks (3 or 4 min.) from our vet. Good luck and prayers for you and your babies with this horrible condition. |
