I use the PETCARE RX site too! Make sure to check for any other specials they have going on, last bag I got a kong toy for 1 cent, and the shampoo I bought shipped free with the food. |
The place only a few blocks form me sells it for $12.99 a bag and the Tractor Supply near my parents sells it for $11.99 a bag. I am psyched!!!! :) I also have a store 1 block away that sells it but not sure how much it is, there. I'll have to pop in and check it out!! :) |
My Dori is thriving on TOTW Pacific Stream. She was a Wellness pup, then we tried Orijin (too much protein vet said). TOTW has samples of all their flavors and the only complaint I have is "fishy whiskers." We buy the small 5 lb. bags and per the store's suggestion, keep the kibble in its original container. Apparently, the oils in the kibble can be affected by plastic. Can't remember why. |

I feed TOTW Wetlands Foul. |
Dog Food Reviews - Main Index - Powered by ReviewPost It's the highest rated in the premium category receiving 6 stars (kibble). I do NOT believe in canned dog food. Yorkies are prone to dental issues canned food causes dental issues. |

What’s Better… Canned or Dry Dog Food? Dry Dog Food and the Myth of Cleaner Teeth Getting To The "Root" of Bad Breath In Dogs And Cats Properly brushing a dogs teeth daily will prevent or aid in tarter build up, plaque, etc. Sometimes it's simply genetics. In many ways, I find canned food to be superior. I would probably feed it exclusively if it weren't so expensive. |
I went to the Tractor Supply near my parents where they have TOTW canned. I bought some of the canned Pacific Stream. I mixed about one teaspoon, in with the Pacific Stream kibble last night and this morning. He Devoured it!! :) |

"may" "don't assume dry kibble actually cleans teeth" silliness didn't we go over this before already? Here's a few other links: According to a number of veterinarians, including Dr. Race Foster, DVM, of Doctors Foster & Smith, "the most important advantage of using dry foods ... is that the abrasive action of eating them is good for the dog's teeth and gums. Dogs that constantly eat any of the softened foods usually have more dental problems ranging from tartar and plaque buildup, to abscesses, tooth loss, and gum disease." |
I'll post the rest later I have kids to get from school: including the UC Davis recent study that flew in the face of recent and popular canned food manufacturers promoting dry kibble to be a myth...I'd totally be feeding canned food if it wasn't detrimental. But to each their own right? |
We can share links back and forth constantly trying to prove who is right and who is wrong. You'll always be able to find a source claiming one thing or the other. I'd like to see a true study performed on canned fed dogs vs. kibble fed dogs but there is no such thing. To me, it just seems silly to think dog kibble can clean a dogs teeth. It's the equivalent of a human using hard pretzels to clean ours. I know a 13 year old Maltese who has eaten mostly canned food all of her life and her teeth are in good condition for her age... hardly any tarter. Jackson has eaten kibble/canned all of his life and has very little plaque build up (but I also do not brush his teeth very often...) Canned is detrimental? Okay.... |
