Max and Mickey are eating NB Sweet Potato and Fish. So far so good. About 3/4 of bag is already gone. |
1 Attachment(s) I started using NB Lamb & Rice for my Pekingese about 13 years ago. She had terrible allergies and that, along with Suave shampoo helped her out a great deal. She had two vets that had me try other products on her, but we quickly went back to NB. It kept her allergies somewhat manageable, but we had to put her down several months ago due to her very poor health. We have continued to use NB Lamb & Rice on our little girl yorkies, but had to purchase the small bites. Ally is 3 lbs and Tia is just over 6 lbs and although the regular bites are small, they are too big for my girls. We love it. |
^ Your babies are GORGEOUS! So far, so good with the NB. :) |
My Jenna has been on NB for a year and a half and seems to only now be developing an allergy to the lamb/rice beef and bison. She may be having trouble with the duck now too. She'll eat the chicken small bites dry (to excess, I have to be sure to measure amounts or she'll stuff herself silly) but not the wet. If she becomes sensitive to the fish & sweet potato (which she's not wild about) I'll have to give upon NB altogether. :( Anyone else have a dog sensitive to NB? |
For the past 2 years The "Z" Gang has doing well on NB P/D w/some Merrick mixed in. The size of the kibble doesn't seem to matter. Got to referee meal time b/c Zipp (17?) who is on SD K/D likes to sneak a quick grab at their bowls and vice versa if he walks away from his KD. |

We are currently transitioning to NB Lamb and Rice now because the Sweet Potato and Fish is almost gone. |
I'm having luck with the venison and sweet potato for the fosters. Eye gunk is getting better, not too much scratching, however Uni is still the same. Scratching, goopy eyes, waaaaaahhh! What's wrong with you Uni?! :( |

I am wondering how much is appropriate to feed him. He always seems hungry... I dunno if it's just because it's new and he really likes the food... but this is less than calories than previous foods he's been on (351 as compared to Acana's 461, etc). Bag recommends 1 to 1.5 cups for 10-20lbs (him being 16lbs) but he's never needed or wanted 1 cup of food... and I do think the bag over-estimates a lot of times... so I dunno, I have just been playing it by ear and seeing what I think he needs. Yesterday he seemed hungry still so I poured another 1/4 cup into his bowl and he ate it up right away, meaning he had 1 full cup of food yesterday (and he was not very active yesterday at all). But he is still getting a bit of Weruva canned food each day... I think I'll just keep planning to give 3/4 cup per day but if he still seems hungry, give him more? I'll just keep track of his body condition and weight.... *talking to myself "out loud" here* LOL. The 3/4 cup (along with some wet food) seems to satisfy him most days. Quote:

Yes on everything we\'ve ever tried. I didn\'t notice any one particular brand that she was any less or more. The vet suggested we get Missing Link and that didn\'t work either. I don\'t want to have her put on meds, so I just put coconut oil on her skin and make her wear a shirt all the time so she doesn\'t scratch her hair out. We\'ve also tried no chicken, no grains, with no success. How long do you think I would see the effects of limiting her diet? Like I stopped feeding chicken again about 2 weeks ago. But then grains are back in. =/ |
Just seeing this post..I had been feeding Foxy Natural Balance Lamb and Rice for the last few months, while her coat did improve , her eye boogers seemed to get worse. I am now on the hunt for something else. But what does not work for one dog, doesnt mean it wont be good for Jackson. Keep me posted! |
