| I have an 8 month old named Bella that weighs almost 5 pounds. Any time she rides in the car she vomits. I have tried driving slow, taking her in the car 10 hours after she has eaten so her stomach is empty, the air conditioning is always blowing on her, and whether crated or in your lap the result is always the same. Barf! First she gets wet around the mouth so that is our initial sign of what is to follow. Someone suggested a calming pheremone spray called Comfort Zone. It contains valerian, chamomile and ginger root. Any suggestions would be greatly APPRECIATED. |

| I am so sorry that your baby isn't enjoying riding. We only have one dog that is like that and he weighs 70lbs (once threw up on my daughter's foot). Because he is so big,he just prefers to stay home. I would be interested to hear what others have say on the subject of carsickness. When I took Mina home it was an hour plus ride. I was told that all 6 of her siblings had thrown up on the way home. She did not,she does however sleep alot in the car. When we stop she is FULLY charged and ready to play. |

If that doesn't work next time try 1/4 tablet of the Non-drowsy Dramamine given 1/2 to 1 hour before traveling. The active ingredient is Meclizine HCL as 25 mg per tablet but just give 1/4 tablet. That will last 24 hours. | |

| Teddy was not good in the car either. I finally found a solution - a snoozer car seat. I position it in the back set of my car in the middle and he can see the road in front of us so that he is looking into the horizon and not affected by passing cars and moving landscape on the side of the road. It really worked for us, and I did not have to try any medications. Good luck

| Bella has even fallen asleep in my grandson's car seat only to wake up and puke. So I am not sure a car seat would help except that maybe by looking at the horizon it helps your brain stabilize your environment. I know this works for people. |

| Abby and Max are the first yorkies I have ever had that have gotten car sick. Last time we went to the vet, they were fine on the way there - however, 3 minutes from the house the heaving started. Ugh! We had a yorkie when I was in high school that we had to get a mild sedative for for long trips (when we moved across the country) because she would get so agitated. Interested to see what has worked for others. |

| Dori is harnessed into a car seat with a view out the back window. She is on the right hand side, so she has a clear view of me driving. I crack the back window so she can sniff. Meggie was the Yorkie who required a small amount of Dramamine for longer trips. It makes them sleepy, even if it is the non-drowsy stuff, but works like a charm.

| Bella gets sick on the one mile drive to the groomer. They said she can't be sleepily medicated while they groom her. Last time I drove about 10 miles an hour on back streets to get there. And she did not puke. But they won't groom her if they think she is medicated and sleepy. |

| I also got a snoozer car seat for my 2 and it help quite a bit. Once Maggie May realized that when she looked out the window, she started not to get carsick. It's so funny to watch, she loves to look out the windows and will follow traffic.

| Jovi gets car sick sometimes??? We drove to the beach about 2 hrs and no puking (she was in the back with her bully stick). When we drove to the doggie park (5 mins) puked all the way there and all the way home?? Another trip to the horse show was about 1hr she was fine until we pulled into the parking lot. I think she is a nervous car rider and if she's distracted she's fine - hopefully she will grow out of it! |

| Well, all the tips seem great. I believe I will try each of them. One at a time to see which works the best for Bella. Thanks so much to everyone for all their tips and advice! |
