| Thinning Hair on Top of Head? My little fellow is coming on 12 wks old and I'm noticing his hair seems to be thinning on the top of his head. Thinning or sparse, not sure which to use. Is this normal or might something be causing this? He is happy and healthy otherwise and the skin tissue is healthy. Thanks. |

| I actually noticed that in my 9 wk old yorkie too. I think maybe its their coat transitioning? I have no idea, just my theory. She doesn't seem bothered by it so I havn't been concerned about it. Hopefully someone can answer this question. |

| Are you sure it's thinning or is it just getting lighter?

| It looks like that when the hair starts to turn. It will thicken. |

| I thought the same thing with our first yorkie. She had a dark head and it looked like the hair was thinning. Turns out it was changing color! She is now a little blondie! |

| I'm glad I found this thread, because my 12 week old baby boy is also thinning at the top of his head. I actually thought it was because we are also petting his head! Hopefully he will too turn out to bcome a beautiful blondie

| Hot Rod was like that when he was a pup. His hair is still thin at 3 1/2 but it's definitely more now.

| Just a thought -- a friend of mine was having the hair thinning on the head of her Yorkie, then I noted that she really, really had the top knot awfully tight (looked like a Chinese Yorkie). She loosened the top knot and the hair loss problem ceased stopped. May not be the problem, but is a consideration. Some folks who have more experience than I do will say some hair bands are better than others for the hair, also. |
