Nutro question For those that have or do feed Nutro...have any of your dogs been itchy on it? I am feeding Lucky Nutro Lamb & Rice Puppy & I have been noticing that he itches ALOT lately! I think it might be the food but not sure?? Has anyone had this problem w/ Nutro & if so what food did you switch to that worked? Thanks for any advice! :) |
I would look to see if it has corn in it and if it does switch to a food that does not. Here is the Whole Dog Journals picks for best dog foods. Wow! Thanks! I see that Nutro Lamb & Rice made it on the BAD list! I have been thinking about switching to either Canidae or Chicken Soup. Half of the good list I have never even heard of! Thanks for the list! I'm going to have to do some more research of these brands before I can decide! Plus make sure my petstore has them! :p |
A lot of these foods you can not buy at the larger chain pet supply stores. The easiest way to find where to buy them is on the internet on their websites, most have a way to locate a retailer near you. Here are some links to a few on the list : http://www.canidae.com http://www.chickensoupforthepetloverssoul.com/ http://www.premiumedgepetfood.com/ http://www.burns-pet-nutrition.co.uk/ http://www.eaglepack.com/ http://www.flintriver.com/ProductInf...ngredients.htm http://www.godaddy.com/sites.html http://www.petrx.com/index.asp?PageA...ROD&ProdID=846 http://www.naturalbalanceinc.com/pro...egetarian.html http://www.omhpet.com/dogs/wellness_...Sup5MixChicken http://www.breeders-choice.com/ http://www.happydogfood.com/products.htm http://www.solidgoldhealth.com/ http://www.propacpetfood.com/dogs/in...20030327154406 http://www.naturediet.net/index.html http://www.naturalbalanceinc.com/ http://www.merrickpetcare.com/ |
Thanks for that list! |
Wow! Thanks again for those links! I'm still having trouble deciding between Canidae & Chicken Soup though, even after looking at their websites! I just don't know! :p |

OMG! Now I am confused!!! I started Hayley on Nutro ulta and chicken soup she likes chicken soup better but they said it was ok to mix it....I have noticed her itching more than she was on purina puppy chow( which I never knew was so bad and wont ever feed again) I thought maybe it was just me...I think I wil give straight chicken soup and see what happens.. Anyone have any problems with it so far? |
Well I was gonna start feeding Chicken Soup but they didn't carry the puppy version, so I bought Wellness instead. Hope he likes it! :) |
Biljac I'm feeding the "frozen" Biljac that has to be kept frozen or refrigerated. I thought the main ingredient was meat, but I'll have to look and see when I get home. My dogs do really good on it and like it. As some one said, if they don't like the others and won't eat it what do you do. I have fed other dogs we had in the past the frozen Biljac and they seemed to do well. I have the chicken soup and they won't eat it. |

Check for the ingredents NATURAL FLAVORING, or Perservatives, colorings ect they are very bad for your little one. Taxes the liver and kills the immunine system. No one should ingest that junk not even humans and you find it in almost every processed food there is. Even our darn tooth paste. Manufactures pay big bucks to labs for creating such junk that tricks the brain into thinking its hungry and all the while its depleteing your body of all the ability to absorb any nutrition from the food. Thats why i switched to Organic foods mostly. Just a thought. Since our family switched to organic foods my husband and i have lost a total of 70 lbs in 4 months and our yorkies are gaining weight and looking so much healthier than when i bought them. HUMMMMMMM something worked i hope this helps |

He eats the Chicken Soup dry puppy food. And like I said, he loves it. |
