I don't get the bordatella shot for my dogs. That shot only covers a number of the many strains of kennel cough. Kind of like the human flu shot which covers last years strains. I would never get the intranasal one. My sister got one for her yorkie mix and that poor dog was affected quite badly from it. I did research at the time and found that were some serious side effects that went along with it. |

From what my vet told me today the bordatella shot is every 6 months, and it is a MUST if you take your dog out to say Petsmart or dog parks, or get them groomed or board them. (My pom got kennel cough from being non-bordatella vaccinated and going to Petsmart with us.) It's a safety precaution. The vet told me they have the 1 year inhalable/nasal one, but that has a host of issues with it and she said she would advise against it. Hope that helps. :) |
