| When he can eat his normal food again I can certainly try green beans and peas. Thanks.

| Thanks for this information. I rarely give my dogs treats, and this will help reinforce why I shouldn't, or should at least be very selective when I do.

| Good reminder! It is amazing to realize. I only buy tiny little low calorie treats for Jackson. I noticed a few that I used to feed him had a ton of cals in them! Get better Cooper! I'm constantly giving Jackson treats and I do use a lot of cheese, though not cheddar but still. I try to use chicken more now or I buy these "Canz Real Meat" dog treats since I break them really tiny and he loves them!

| Thank you for the post... the information has really be a help to me! I am changing from free feeding to homecooking and I am struggling with amounts. I think when my dogs walk away from food after a bite or two I am over feeding.. now looking at your list I see that I am. Gee... I also give too much as a treet. I purchased Balance-it and bought one of the "recipes". I used my largest dog (25 lb shih tuz) and to maintain his weight he should eat about 550 calories a day... less than 1 hamburger

| Cooper seems to be doing much better and is keeping all of his food down for a few days now. I'm reintroducing his regular kibble by adding it to the rice and chicken. Boy is he loving this new meal! I've never seen him lick the bowl. I'm just glad that he's feeling better. Lesson learned.

| Did they not like the Gerber's Graduates Puffs? (serving size: 73 pieces, 25 Calories) Glad to hear Cooper's feeling better...

| They like the Puffs but I wanted to go with a higher valuet treat for intensive training. However, I just gave Cooper a couple of kibbles for sit/stay/down training and he wasn't opposed (well, he spit the first one out but then ate them!).
