Strangely, our 3 stores in our area that sell Orijen is cheaper than getting in on petfooddirect.com. I was hoping it would be cheaper... I mean what wouldn't be better than getting the food cheaper AND delivered right to my door?!

I'm actually at the end of making the switch from Nature's Recipe to Orijen. It's been a slow process, about 2 or 3 weeks now but I made the switch because of the YT's that stand by the product. I decided to give it a try and my little one is doing great on it so far. I'll have to wait and see how he does when he's fully on it 100%.

Yes it would... I feed Orijen at night to Izzy and I give her 2 Primal Raw nuggets in the morning... This has been the best combo.... We LOVE Orijen and Im so glad we tried it... I love that it's higher in protien, grain free and its a trust worthy company.

I just switched to natures recipe a few days ago but now i will surely look into ordering orijen now that i know whats in N.R. and mix that with pre made raw food, but i think i have an over eater on my hands. I just put 3/4 cup of food down not thinking harley would eat it all but she did. not sure how much to feed her. she is a pig!

Q: does feedling orijen or other high-protein foods make puppies grow faster or bigger than they are suppose to? I've noticed that my friends dogs grew significantly bigger (maybe more than they are suppose to) after them switching to orijen and we are wondering if it is because of the food.

Genetics controls how they grow. No one, and I mean NO ONE can determine how big or small a dog will grow. The best breeders that know their lines inside and out can at very best guesstimate the size of the pups. The pup will grow as big or as small as their genetic map tells them. Good food can affect skin, allergies, and how beautiful their coat is (but it will not change a soft coated yorkie into a silky haired yorkie). There is no miracle food. Trust me, my friend tried. She wants her little girl to grow a bit more but she is what she is; a beautiful little pup!

They can however over eat and get chubby. That seems to plague a lot of us whether human or canine.

No, but when you have a large breed puppy, you do have to watch out for calcium and phosphourus levels, as it can make a large breed dog grow too fast.... but it shouldn't make them bigger.

Izzy gets 1/4 -1/3 cup of Orijen and 2 Primal nuggets ... she also gets treats thought out the day... and sometimes I'll give her a few pieces of kibble in the evening before she goes to bed.. just depends
