| The best food for your 6 month yorkie Hello. I'm a little confused about which food to feed my baby. I currently have her on Solid Gold Just a Wee Bit made with bison and she started off eating it well. This food has her doing healthy, solid waste and since she started teething I moistening her kibble to soften it. For the past few days now her appetite has lessen. Should I change her food or give it some time? I get very concerned when she doesn't have a healthy appetite. She only weighs 2.6 lbs at her last vet visit. Help!! |

| Her teething may be decreasing her appetite...has anything else changed? At that tiny size you also need to make sure she's at least eating something and doesn't get hypoglycemic. Last edited by AMD; 10-07-2010 at 08:52 PM. |

| is she eating any better? for kibble i recommend orijen.(they won best dog food of the year last year) if you are interested in feeding raw. there are also a few pre-made raw that i like. (primal, stella and chewy's) if you decide to switch food, make sure you transition her slowly to the new food. good luck! http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...-your-dog.html

| Yes! She is eating better! Thank you so much. Also, thanks for giving me options of different foods. I will see what's best for her. One other thing is since she started getting her adult teeth, her breath smells horrible!! I took a rotten tooth from her mouth and I thought that would improve her breath but it hasn't. Could she have another issue? She currently have 3 more weeks of school then she's schedule for her spaying. She needs two teeth pulled because they doubled. Hopefully the vet can help with her breath change??? |

| yes, having double teeth can cause her to have bad breath. once her baby teeth are removed, her breath should improve. do you brush her teeth? it's important since yorkies are prone to dental issues.

I use Petzlife to clean teeth and I sometimes squirt one spray of it into my baby's mouth when she has bad breat...but she's not teething so it's not constant. | |
