All my yorkies have microchips and they never moved . |
Chipping Good! Well in my family, all our pets have been chipped. We have no complication on our pets (german shepard dogs, siamese, siamese mix, and a mix breed cat). :) They have been with us ranging from 10 years old to 5 years old. So I feel confident they are good things to have even if they move a little as long as your pup is still ok. |
I had Maxwell Micro chiped at about 6 months and Zeus was done at 7 months both when they were getting nutered. I've never had a problem and never seen any movement. |
Wandering Micro Chip I took Mickey to the Vet because he had a bump on his back. They charged me to do an aspiratation to extract fluids and see if there was anything wrong. They had to shave a dime size area of back to get to the bump. They said they only found traces of vaccine, so there was no need to worry. I took him to a new Vet the other day and immediately she diagnosed the bump as being his microchip. They said it wandered because he does not have a lot of tissue, fat or muscle to hold it in place of something? They said that it is not hurting anything and it is not necessary to remove it and try to replace it at the back of his neck where they originally put it. He seems very happy. Interesting.. Dee |
I was told not to micro-chip since the chance of someone actually returning a yorkie to its owner would be rare since they are such a popular breed of dogs. I do have other dogs who are micro-chipped but have decided not to do my yorkie (just dont see the point in micro-chipping him when he never leaves my sight). |
My maltese is microchipped, and hers did move. It was inserted in between the shoulder blades, and it is now on her right shoulder blade. |
