| Help! Need other Yorkie owners advice! I recently adopted Marley, a very sweet and loving 1.5 year old Yorkie from a neglectful home. I met with a trainer a few days to get her opinion on signing Marley up for obedience training classes. We started off the discussion with his diet. I informed her that I had been feeding Marley "Beneful", which he just loves. However, she highly suggested that I remove the Beneful from Marleys diet and give him a higher quality food, she recommended "Orijen". After reading the dogfoodanalysis.com website, I completely agree that the Orijen is much healthier for Marley. However, it has now been two days and Marley will absolutely not touch the Orijen!!! I felt completely guilty and gave him the Beneful just so that he would eat something! Has anyone ever experienced something of similar nature and what's the best advice? |

| If you really want to change Marleys food do it slowly...start off with a quarter of the new food in with the old food for a few days than do half new half old for a few days than do 3 quarters new food with just a quarter of the old food for a few days and than just give the new food should be completely switch over within a week...give it a try it might work better for you and Marley Good luck.

| Yorkies as a breed do seem to be extremely picky!! There are three varieties of grain-free Acana (we rotate between grasslands and prairie). However, there are also other high quality foods like Nature's Variety, Innova, Orijen. You can search on here and will get a ton of threads about food Good luck choosing the best food for your little girl. |
