we also are going to try Fromm fish and potato food and maybe canidae...
i think i'm going to supplement their kibble diet with a little venison, bison, pheasant, rabbit, and beef raw diets so that they get more meat variety but when we travel they get more kibble and it's just easier!! i'm sad to see that almost all meat diets in kibble contain chicken or meal or fat...Sadie is allergic to chicken! :( but this is where the raw supplementing comes into play she'll get her beef and bison that way! :D | Awesome! I hope Orijen works out for you. Acana, by same company, has Grasslands and Pacifica formula that are also chicken-free. Great foods! Also, there's nothing wrong with 'meal' as long as it states where it's coming from, aka 'turkey meal' is good; 'byproduct meal' or 'meat meal' is not good, because you don't know the source. And 'chicken fat' is actually good, even if it sounds bad. Chicken fat is high in linoleic acid… an omega-6 fatty acid essential for life. Although it doesn’t sound very appetizing, chicken fat is actually a quality ingredient. |
