What food do you use? I have been using wellness core and the dogs are doing great with it but I havent researched foods in a while and Im wondering if there are better choices out there. I have been hearing alot of good things about solid gold lately but its also a local food here so I expect that. What do you feed? and if anyone has good websites that compare foods that would be great. |

if the food you are feeding is working; its' best not to mess with it. as changing diets can be very tricky. good luck |
I've used Wysong products for several years now, even though I'll try others occasionally, I always come back to Wysong. I would encourage others to at least read about them and their approach to pet food. Also, back during all of the pet food recalls, Wysong never had anything recalled. I trust them, something that's not easy to do anymore with all of the recalls. Recently they've added a no starch food (Epigen), I've been rotating with that, the Nurture with Pheasant and the Archetype diet. They also offer people foods and supplements that I use. http://www.wysong.net/healthy-natura...upplements.php |
We switched to Orijen this spring b/c of Maggie's severe allergies. She is doing much better with it and so do the other 4 fur butts. Very nice side effects: Maxie and Minnie don't eat poop anymore and all of them stopped digging their way to China and eat the soil... (I sprained my ankle when I stepped into one of their holes... :() |
Acana is my favorite food for the pups. I also like Nature's Variety, Fromm's, Now!, Orijen and Go! |

I've always wanted to try it but it's sooo expensive at our local store (from what I remember). :( Maybe I'll take a peek again next time I'm in there. I did request those free samples of the new food, tho! |

I've been using Natural Ultramix for puppies from PetSmart... Anyone ever used this.. Izzy our yorkie is 4 months old... |
I just switched Teegy yesterday to adult and I went with Orijen Red after some research. I was originally going to go with Wellness Core, but it's a local Canadian product and all their ingredients are brought in fresh. I think I might rotate him with their fish based food. When I opened the back it smelled like a roast beef dinner and the kibble isn't too big. He scarfed it down no problem (same company that makes Acana) |
Hi all.. I just joined yorkie talk.com yesterday. After many different breed dogs, we decided upon a teacup yorkie! Let me tell you, she has turned all four of us upside, 10 babies would be easier....I think?! LOL We cannot keep her interested in food. I have fed nothing but good foods to all our dogs in the past but this one, is VERY finicky! She is 10 months old and started her on Canine Caviars Holistic brand food, which she liked at first, now...she turns and walks away. Changed over to Science Diet Healthy Development for puppies, and I actually gag on the smell of it! Yuck! We have been adding a teaspoon of ground chicken in a can to spice it up, but now she walks away from that?! I want to feed her a kibble brand for her teeth and gums but cannot find anything she stays interested in. I read alot about Orijjen brand...Wellness in a can to spice it up....?? Any suggestions to keep this one finicky girl happy would be greatly appreciated. |

choose a high quality food dry or wet; and you can add a teaspoon of green tripe from solid gold or tripett; and she will eat the food up. never fails. try welness simple solution or blue bufalo |
Blue Buffalo Senior |
Thanks for the feedback! I have been hearing about 'green tripe', what is that a brand name of a canned food? Never heard of it? And the Wellness or Blue Buffalo, are those the dry kibble suggestions? I need something that wont run right through her, she tends to have softer stools from some of the foods and I need to get her on a routine once and for all because she goes only on a potty pad, will not go outside to the bathroom to save her life!! Will have her out for an hour and will not go, come in and go on the pad....if she is good enough to make it. Does anyone have issues with potty training? Heard Yorkies are very tough? |
